Anyone else hoping for that H1B this year?
Hi All,
I have around 10 years experience in IT industry, mainly on QA automation. I have experience with PwC and Deloitte in the USA.
My I797 expired, however I have 10 months remaining on initial 6 year period. I’m looking for opportunities in US for getting H1B/L1. I’m open for positions in India initially as well. I’m well versed with Salesforce too. Any suggestions are really appreciated Accenture PwC EY KPMG Capgemini Salesforce
HI folks,
My current CTC is very low with respect to my YOE. CTC : 5.2 lpa
YoE : 4
Tech stack : Python , MLops
But now my manager has initiated H1B visa for me and the visa process is in progress.
Is it worth to wait till the H1B process completes to work in U.S (or) should i make a switch immediately. .

Many who repatriate are lured by a vibrant startup scene in India that is drawing unprecedented capital from venture and private equity firms and is buoyed by an effervescent market for stocks. But they are also disenchanted with what they perceive as America’s bleak and hopeless immigration landscape, where the wait times for green cards are tortuously long, and the limits on launching startups for newcomers are highly restrictive.

You don’t need to go through the lottery process until you have ‘used up’ your 6 years under this h1....
For example, if you got your h1b in 2019 and moved to Your home country in 2020, you have used up 1 year..... you can come back in 2 years or 10 and still have the remaining 5 years on your h1b
SC1, are you sure? I've heard that concurrent stay of 365 days outside of the US will reset the clock and one has to go through the lottery again. Meaning, if you use up 2 years of your H1b for example and then spend more than 1 year outside of the US at one go, then your H1b is reset and you will have to go through the lottery process again and if selected will have 6 years on the h1b

Unless I’m mistaken, if you quit your current firm without transferring your H1 to your next employer, you will need to reapply through the lottery
not for next 6 years
yes. In fact had you were beneficiary of an approved i140, U would have got H1b anytime till date is current
My advise.. ask the question on avvo.com so immigration attorneys can answer the question
