You are not allowed to do Roth without being a permanent resident.

like

Residency not needed for 401k. If you cash out you pay taxes.

Not true

^what bank allowed a Roth without residence? I'd honestly like to know I lose so much in taxes every year

Following.. I thought I wasn't eligible for Roth or traditional 401k without a green card.

I'm using betterment and Mckinsey 401k

Neither of those should allow Roth

I have contributed to ROTH in a Fidelity account for 3 years.. I am on a H1B. I did not know that permanent residence was needed.

You don't ZS1

....

Chase, BofA, vanguard and Cap1 don't allow Roth IRA for h1bs. I'll have to look at fidelity and see how they get around the citizenship field. Total lifesaver if they do!

33 y/o and this is where I’m at for net worth. I’ve been an avid saver and frugal penny pincher for years. A portion of this is inherited family wealth, but a good portion of this is also my continued discipline. Am I on a good track for FIRE? 🔥 I’m curious when I could retire Lol

Would you ever be willing to take a lower title, but more pay for a better "brand name" w/ more growth trajectory? I'm currently a Sr. Business Analyst for a F500 company (strategy team). I got an offer to be a business ops Associate at a FAANG company w/ more pay than my current role. The title seems like a step down, but I feel like the long term benefits of being at FAANG could outweigh this titling change. Would appreciate any advice.

Hi MBB 🐠,

I received offer from McKinsey but there’s very few components mentioned.

Firstly, out of these 5 components what all will constitute monthly in hand pay (I know I won’t get PF but do I get LTA montly or is it only available if I claim it?)

Also, I don’t see any information about Joining Bonus, Performance Bonus or Relocation bonus. Can you help with what other components could possibly be there?

TIA

The best decision I made towards my FIRE goal was to move from Europe to the US. I did so at 31 with a NW of $300k. Four years later, my NW is $1.2M as I kept costs low while earning significantly more. My concern now is how to keep a good balance as I know that costs will greatly increase (house, kids..) in the next few years. Has any of you considered moving to Europe to benefit from a cheaper lifestyle once you’ve grown your nest egg?
