H1B

H4EAD— if my Spouse is laid off. What happens to my EAD, do I loose my H4EAD as well and have to stop working. If he finds a new employer, and his new employer doesn’t file I-140 immediately, can I continue to work ??

U r ok to work u till the H1 status is valid for ur spouse. Typically 60 days grace period until ur spouse becomes out of status n consequently u too would be out of status.

My question is if he finds a job within 60 days? Can I continue working ?

You can continue to work even when your H-1B spouse doesn’t have a job, during the 60 day period. The new employer doesn’t have to file I-140 or start a green card process for your spouse. You can use the existing I-140 to apply or extend H-4 EAD.

Just had a fact gathering meeting with new client after having to drive 3+ hours to meet them. I barely introduced myself before I was asked 1) how old I was and 2) how long had I been doing this. I’m c/o 2015 and have been doing litigation ever since. When I explained that this was not my first rodeo, they tell me that they don’t know if they feel comfortable with me handling the case since the named partner also on the file didn’t show up. It’s ins defense case and they aren’t paying a dime...
