The emphasis on the program is unmatched. Significant relationships w Chicago non profits for their fellow program, the student driven atmosphere w a plethora of SI specific clubs (strong network), on top of a heavy curriculum. From what I’ve heard, it’s a serious focus for them
Know people at Booth and Kellogg who are social impact focused. Anecdotally, the opportunities seem to be similar, perhaps because both are in Chicago. I get the feeling that there’s a slightly stronger focus and environment for it at Kellogg, but don’t think it’s significant vis-a-vis Booth.
Can’t speak to Tuck, but maybe somebody else can.
^ thanks for the info!
I visited all of them but tuck and got the impression that Booth is way behind than the other 2 in terms of curricula and people involvement and interest. Maybe I talked to the wrong guys, not sure
OP, I don’t necessarily think you’re wrong. But social impact is so network and relationship driven that I’m not really convinced that there’s a huge delta between business schools. On the other hand, I would agree that this means that interest level amongst the student population matters, and my sense is that Booth is not as focused on it as the other two (after all, Friedman did say that the social responsibility of corporations is to maximize profits for shareholders...)
Kellogg is the leader of the three from my research. Someone I know at Tuck is focused on social impact but can’t speak for the whole school either
^ could you please elaborate? I also think that Kellogg leads in this field however I would like to read other thoughts
