I don’t think there’s anything more frustrating than the fact I was just told my performance does not warrant the 15% raise I asked for. Just be honest and say the company can’t afford it because I know for a fact this isn’t on me.

Hi UK Fish, going into a promotion (from C to SC) and raise discussion tomorrow at a boutique consulting firm. Currently at 62.5k. Bonus was up to 10% but all I got was a measly 2%, slow pipeline maybe but I wasn't told why (will raise tomorrow). A recent acquisition has resulted in losing our annual xmas week off and a learning budget of 1k. I know for a fact that last year they were looking to hire SCs at 70k. Is a base raise to 75k a fair ask?

Since you can’t be a manager without CPA in Big 4, how does pay work as your career advances as a 3rd, 4th, 5th year, etc. senior. Is it just a standard raise or can you make good money without CPA?

I’m a very experienced veterinary assistant who has been doing this job for about 4 years in total however because of my skill level I would say I am more of an unlicensed technician. I’m looking for input on what I should ask for a raise. Have an offer from Deloitte doing the exact same thing I do at KPMG for 45% more. Partners at KPMG have basically told me they can get close to matching but not until raises happen in October. Should I trust them or jump? Worried about having to build an internal network from scratch at Deloitte but also worried about getting screwed in October and getting like a 10% raise only. Hi All, I was hoping for some perspective. I signed onto my fund accounting roll for 95k after having completed 3 busy seasons. I have a colleague who has the same experience but signed on a few months later and negotiated 100k. So Deloitte has announced mid-year market adjustment (for all functions) and retention bonus (for audit at least). I received comp comm today and pretty impressed by it - 17% salary increase and $35k bonus as a senior. Wondering if it’s what other PA firms are also doing to retain people now?
