Is it misleading to just look at Total Compensation from a $ dollar value/ Total Compensation seems to be much more subjective than base salary in terms of its value. Some factors might be:

RSUs granted on dollar value or by # of shares & stock price trends
Vesting schedule
strike price on ISOs & delta between strike price and real market value

For instance, most of value in Amazon's comp seems to be granted in years 3 & 4, but it's well known that most people last only 2 years max there.

I work for a huge company for 11 years and haven’t been happy for a while. I feel emotionally attached to it because of great benefits, my growth (had multiple roles) and overall culture. Leaving it feels almost like ending a marriage (nuts, right?). Have you ever felt this way about your career before? I’ve seen people leaving and regretting it and seen people leaving and telling me there’s life post XYZ company.

I miss my ex :/ I broke up with him and I know it was right decision, but it still sucks.

I can’t forget about a guy I met 2 years ago and wanted to date him. We we friendly and had some chemistry, but I was afraid to break the friendship having only known him for like 1 month. Then Covid came, we started losing contact and he moved to the other side of the country. I believe he has a girlfriend now, and I even dated someone for a couple months, but I still can’t get over him.

My computer screen stopped working after 6 years of using it. Need to buy a new one but I know nothing about this stuff. I don’t have a lot of space on my desk but would love some recos on what to look for

I am experiencing depression due being disappointed with my workplace. I probably put too much of myself into work and now need to identify less with it. However, it’s hard to leave due to compensation and where I am with my family (kids still at an age I cannot just walk away). How did you cope? I cannot talk to someone at work but at same time I want someone who understands my world.

Anyone have trouble with large friend groups? I have one group of friends that I hang out with that I know from my childhood. As I get older, I realize that many of the people in the group have not grown (may be to do with the fact that they didn't leave home for school) and tend to stick with their childish ways. I find it difficult because I have adopted a mentality to only keep people that bring me positive emotions within my circle.

I just found out I accidentally took my ex-husband’s social security card, in April of 2020 when I moved out. It was in the file box with tax documents, and I got his tax documents out, but his card was in the front of the box, not the actual file. I just wonder now if he ever noticed it was missing.

I'm a tax attorney and my gf works in the food industry. She had to move out west for a year, with the plan of moving back to Chicago.

We are six months away from moving back in together but her parents are really weird about it. They are from California and come from a really close family.

Every time I see them or my girlfriend talks to them, they mention wanting her to be closer. I take it so personally.
