Sounds like you have good support from your spouse which is a big help. Just give yourself time, take the evening to rest, have tea, sleep, etc. and start fresh tomorrow. Work with your spouse on a plan for future visits so this doesn’t continue to frustrate and escalate.

Thank you! They’re literally the most adorable grandparents. My MIL doesn’t come all the time but my FIL comes with food to cook for lunch and dinner and wine every Sunday. He means well but doesn’t understand routine, letting the baby fall asleep on his own, etc. The scoffing and comments at bedtime and him looking over my shoulder at the baby monitor can build up emotionally

like

I would do what is right for you mama. It is your baby, you know him the best. Plus not following routine means it will be harder for you. Let your FIL know that this is important for you. He will understand. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

Thank you. After the Christmas Eve fiasco (he woke up so upset around 11pm and my husband had to spend an hour calming down our never fussy baby - because we gave them an extra hour with him) we thought they’d get it.

Christmas Day rolled around we told them how bad it was, and they were still asking us to skip nap. 🤦‍♀️

I think I just need to get over being afraid to come across rude and just say no more firmly vs smiling and screaming inside.

Our families judged us too with all our routines and schedules and not rocking baby to sleep etc... well my son is 2 and they say “you have to do everything the same for baby #2... we know we judged you and made fun but it seriously worked and I’ve never known a baby to sleep so well” it has made it much easier for them to take the kid for the night etc etc. Hopefully they see it too one day.

We didn’t see my parents often so I had to let go a bit and let him stay up a bit later etc but it was worth it for them to spend time w him even though it stresses me every time..... the occasional change is fine from my experience. But weekly - I totally get that you can’t switch things up every week!

Lmaoo! The “bedtime why!?” Is our liiiife!

FIL is in the floor, rolling around with him and I give warnings to the baby aka him like “10 mins until you need to go eat” or “5 mins until nap” but bedtime is always a *gasp* SHOCK

My dads not in my life so I’m beyond grateful for my father-in-law but sometimes it’s still like ah come on

like

Wait on me hand and foot, bring me wine and snacks, hearing me out, made a plan to prevent this in the future even if it means they can’t stay until bedtime, etc. It’s lowkey adorable, but I still feel just drained/broken on the verge of tears 🤷‍♀️

The baby only fell asleep 30 mins late, but I was just broken. How do you recollect after an emotional moment?

Hi everyone, I’m putting together a maternity/paternity leave proposal for executive management. We currently have no leave and recent events has led for them to re evaluate. I’d love to be able to get some intel in what type of parental leave plans are out there. I’m in the mortgage industry specifically. If you could provide the company size, industry and leave allowance, that would be great!! Thanks so much.

I got I new job I start in 2 weeks. My husband and I planned on trying for our second child in August. Our children will already be much father apart in age because he was unexpectedly deployed for 18 months when our son just turned 1. We don’t want any larger of an age gap than we already will have but now I’m afraid to start trying for another child after only being at my new job for 4 months but it also devastates me to wait another year to start trying. What is your opinion on this?

Baby takes a big feed ( dream feed I suppose) at around 6:45pm and wakes up after 5 hours(longest he gives) and then feeds once every two hours or an hour and a half. Is there a way to delay the feed to later in the night(9/10),so we can align sleep patterns as we return to work?
And FYI, we’ve already tried to give him smaller bottles at that time l, but he screams his lungs out until we give him more and he’s full. Anyone have a similar experience??

I am getting ready to send my 2 year old toddler to a toddler program next week for the first time. Have to fill out a form “bathroom waiver”, which is basically allowing teachers at the school to clean my child after a potty, including genital area. I feel uneasy about this but I know I have to let them… I assume all parents have signed such waiver?

Does anyone use Pendo for their Guides offering (or others)? Had a question if anyone uses them as their install/app key model appears to be based on root url (e.g., if a micro service has a different url from a parent app, it would be another subscription). Anyone here that undertook url rationalization that avoided this issue? Or are there any other issues when installing on microservices?

In competent hiring panel in EY.

Pathetic interview experience with EY. The HR was quite helpful but the panelist was rude and impatient.

It seemed like he had mugged up some answers and expected me to respond the same word by word definition.

In fact, when I explained her a concept she was like - I don't want to listen the technical logic or perspective, give me a non technical explanation as if a kid can understand.

Feedback shared by her: "Candidate lacks technical knowledge"

Wow!!!

Work is the only thing in my life. I've lost all hobbies and friends years ago. I realise I only manage to see a counsellor when my depression is manageable but not at it's worst. Coupled with not wanting to exist for years - Its become bad.

However, I had an epiphany of sorts. If I was willing to not exist anymore and to end it...by that rational couldn't i drastically change my life - as I had nothing left to lose? Or dedicate my life to society?

TL;DR depression thoughts
