Had a recruiter from a smaller office reach out to me about a job in their tas practice. They’re saying they want to add shareholders in the next few years. I’m assuming that’s the equivalent of partner? Why would she tell me that? I’m a senior currently so I doubt I’m making partner anytime soon…

She is just telling you that they want shareholders. B4 is also looking to add more shareholders this year

She’s just blasting out the same message to everyone regardless of level. So it’s not relevant to you put it’s relevant to senior managers.

Sounds like CBIZ.

Thoughts on the below role?

Got messaged about an analyst job doing the preliminary discovery stuff including dashboards. But not for the business, but to give recommendations to data scientists about where to focus. Having been a modeling DS, I can't imagine why I'd outsource exploratory analysis. Anyone seen a team like this before?

Also worried about career prospects. I've been wanting to turn business facing, but becoming the only DA on a DS team seems like it'd be a dead end with promos?

Is it really that difficult to get hired for a federal job? I was interviewed for a GS12 job but never heard back, they still didn’t hire anyone and I didn’t get a rejection. I applied for another GS07 job, was accepted, I took it, but I believe I can do better. I have a master’s and have extra graduate research experience. I am still applying to new jobs but I was told it is impossible to move up the grade level now. Everyone is telling me to stick with the government. What are your thoughts?

been in industry (small companies) for 5 years with an active CPA. Wanted to get in SEC reporting roles but almost every company requires 2-year public accounting exp. Now applying for public accounting firms entry level positions but almost all firms HR asked if I had ever worked in firms. Got rejection emails from firms all the time. Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?

Hi all, new to fishbowl. I am currently a PTA working in homecare. I am considering changing career paths to non-clinical. Everything I search for available jobs in the pay range that I need seems to come up as sales, (Sr, executive, etc) I have zero sales experience, but could see myself working as a healthcare liason, recruiter, care coordinator, or pharm sales rep. I live in Dayton, OH. I would love some insight or feedback. I also see Gpac recruiting popping up, is this a reputable co? Ty!

I’ve done PI work my entire career for over 10 years. I’ve worked in state and federal courts and I’ve traveled around the country doing MDL work and bellwether trials. I’ve had a lot of success making the idiots I’ve worked for wealthy, but I’m still waiting for a moment where I enjoy what I’m doing. I feel stuck working in dysfunctional plaintiff firms/cultures. I hate this profession/career more and more each year. Has anybody been successful breaking off on their own in recent years? Advice?

Need support & insights. Burnt out and so so ready to quit. Feel sick every workday and starting to hate the industry and resent normal work.

We’re saving so I can quit in the spring without a new gig. In the meantime I’m trying to put as many deserving people in leadership track positions as I can, and fight some of the toxic nonsense at the leadership table.

Please tell me it’s ok to leave this industry and that I’ll find something new, even in a growing recession and as a woman over 40. 😬
