Had an Excel assessment yesterday as the second to last step in an interview process. I was using a new computer and long story short, had some technical difficulties (or maybe just my own incompetence under stress) and ended up only getting through half of the test. I’m on the fence about emailing my recruiter and explaining the circumstances/asking for a retest. Don’t want to come off like I’m complaining but also don’t want this to be the reason I don’t move forward. Any advice appreciated…

Tough break but I think it’s a long shot that they would let you retest. Maybe worth asking but I don’t imagine it’s likely.

Thanks for your input…I agree with you. I suppose at this point just want to beat them to the punch and explain the circumstances. It’s a Hail Mary but I at least wouldn’t wonder “what if”. I’ve already mentally prepared myself for the worst case.

Hi All,

Has anyone ever had to do the second step of an interview over slack? It was a legitimate company not a scam. The person I would be working with said the second interview after an assignment was over slack. They asked me in the first interview about my writing skills. They said since it's a remote company most people I'd never speak with directly and everything would be asynchronous through slack. Is this typical?

Anyone have tips for proper slack etiquette or resources to share?

Lyft has had what seems like the same ACD Writer role open for months now. Just yesterday, I saw that CCO post it with a note on LinkedIn.

How have they not found anyone yet?
Should this be a red flag?

I've applied myself and haven't heard a peep, but I don't for a second think I stand a chance. So, I'm just curious if anyone has any light they might be able to shed as to the persistence of this open role. I know it's hard to find the right fit, but this is weird...

I’ve been getting invaluable experience at a boutique litigation firm. The only things is, the firm hasn’t evolved with work culture. The official policy is that everyone WFH one day each week with no choice of which day. Sometimes I’ll work from home more than one day a week and when I do, I feel paranoid because when I’m in the office, the partners will “walk the halls.” I would appreciate more flexibility and have a big law interview scheduled. Is this worth leaving? Btw, I’m a first year.

What are some smart things to talk about during interview with UX director? Or what type of ux questions should I expect? I'm visual designer interviewing for product design..

I’ve been with my company for 4 years and I’m thinking about applying for a new job. For references, I would like to use my coworkers but I also don’t want to bring up the fact that I’m applying to other places. How should I handle my references when it comes to applying or interviewing with other companies?

Just got an interview call for Telecom consultant role in Infosys.

HR asked for video interview and I dont mind that. I replied the HR that panel also puts on their web cam. It's not a healthy way to communicate during inteview when panel remains on audio (and perhaps in their shorts and baniyan ) :D

And interviewing the candidate wearing formals.

Secondly, any tips sharks for the interview ?

I'm currently on short term disability (but not on FMLA). Prior to leave, I started interviewing. I received multiple offers... Haven't accepted one yet, but more than likely will. It's going to be a while until I'm able to get back to work. I'd like to be able to tell my mgr/team now that I'm leaving so they can prepare. I also know they can terminate me while I'm on STD and not protected by FMLA. If I give notice and they decide to terminate me on the spot, do I lose my STD benefits?

Anyone else had same experience?

Just had my 4th and final interview with Accenture with someone very high up, other 3 skills interviews all loved me and went great, and this guy couldn’t have been a bigger a$$hole to me during our call if he tried.

Like hung up the call at the end and didn’t say bye lol. I’ve already been vetted by SM’s, I have 10YOE, and this guy acts like this why exactly? Just kinda stunned atm, do I even want to work there now even if he gives the okay… anyone else experienced this before? Disappointed.

I was recently offered a clinic manager position at physiotherapy clinic I work at. I tried to negotiate a fair wage (they were only offering 37K salary for full time position as CLINIC MANAGER!!). Apparently that’s the starting for any clinic manager but I feel like that’s really getting low balled. Obviously I declined the offer as it’s barely a living wage to support my family and it’s 50 cents more than my current wage so it doesn’t make a big difference. Any CM’s out there to compare with?
