Had an interview last week. Recruiter (who is a recruiter for the firm itself as I applied directly) emailed me today asking how I thought the interviews went. Does this mean anything? Wouldn’t a recruiter only reach out to schedule another round of interviews or to reject you? Haven’t heard back since replying this morning.

They probably want to tell the partners whether you are interested in moving forward. Did you send a thank you saying you were interested? I’m a recruiter and they always ask us how the candidate thought it went before moving to next steps if they haven’t heard from me or the candidate yet.

like

If they were passing, they likely wouldn’t ask what you thought!

They may just be using it as an excuse to reach out while they wait for feedback on your end, or the partners might want to know if you are interested before they take next steps on their end

This is always about them wanting to follow up with the firm to see next steps

I’m a midlevel who recently joined a new firm where my group is very busy, so my teams encourage pushing work down to junior associates. Seems great, but the problem is that whenever I give a junior associate a drafting assignment that’s not rote document processing, I have to redraft the entire thing and it takes just as long or longer than if I had done the work myself. I try to ask them to revise when I can, but we often don’t have time for more rounds of that. How can I handle this better?
