Would it be bad if I emailed the person who interviewed me and asked this? If I don’t even have a chance anymore, isn’t it in everyone’s best interest to let me know now so that I don’t waste the second interviewer’s time?

10yr exp with primary skillset like Csharp, specflow,selenium, BDD, Azure cloud.

Currently in finance ops group at a PE shop in Canada. In late stages of interview process w GS in NYC for similar role but at the Associate level. All indications point to an offer being imminent but I have concerns with 1) title (junior VP’s in the group have +1/-1 YOE than me, 2) base feels a bit light given I have 9+ YOE (job description says top end is US$160K)…Nervous for a change as current role is very comfy but nothing ever grows in comfort zones. Thoughts?

Hi All, I have 9.10 YOE in Investment Banking and Financial Services. I have switched 3 companies in my career - Societe Generale, Accenture, and London Stock Exchange Group but I am still at 15.00 LPA. 2022, I started looking for a new job & got interviews scheduled from HSBC, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, and JP Morgan but always got rejected. I did well in the interviews but still did not get selected. I am stuck, please guide me.

I lateralled to a new firm four months ago. During my interview, the partners were courteous and professional. Now they are little other than condescending, rude, and turn every minor hiccup (cont.)

Currently fully remote as a contractor. Managers are super flexible & understanding. They’re interested in my interests and catering to them. I’ve been interviewing passively and I’m in the final stage at another company. Both companies are great, stable, seem like great teammates. The other company is hybrid and 3x’s in office. Toxic partner who is tech illiterate just chewed me out because I didn’t know why an email from a paralegal didn’t make it’s way to the client. It’s been the partner’s case for two months, I’ve never heard of the client, and had not seen the email from the paralegal because I wasn’t cc’d. It took every ounce of self control to keep from telling her I’ve already accepted a partner position at another firm but I just couldn’t forego seeing the look on her face when I tell her on Friday.

New employer’s parental leave policy is silent on whether you have to return to work for a certain period after the leave in order to avoid having to pay back to leave. Are pay back clauses common?

Anyone ever get a work crush? I’ve recently worked with an associate who I just completely vibe with. We work together very well, and their is definitely a little flirting going on. Fortunately for me (I’m happily married), we’ve never met in person since I work remote in a different state.

How do you manage holidays or days off with your creative partner?

I feel bad about wanting to take days off because we’re both very committed to working hard and don’t want to miss out on opportunities especially as juniors, but I’m starting to feel quite burnt out from not taking any real days off this year.

Would love to take them all at the end of the year, but is that a bad idea since Q4 can be busy? Just not sure what’s the norm since it’s my first year. Any advice is appreciated ❤️
