Had no billable work and spent the entire day yesterday in bed. Today, I‘ve gotten enough work that I’ll be working the entire weekend. Why does it always happen that way 🤦🏽‍♀️

Im starting a new job but still employed somewhere else. I was trying to be open about staying at BOTH places. My current job won’t let me be part time because they don’t allow “set schedules”. Yet I am one of the only reliable and loyal employees in the department, and currently working a set schedule. So why will they not let me continue a set schedule but with different hours? This place is more focused on strict policies and not actually trying to work their employees and being flexible.

At 56 years old and almost 2 years out of work, I think I aged out of my profession and am not physically healthy enough to start something new. I can’t picture myself working ever again.

I'm an RN of 7 years, experience as a coordinator, on committees and do all the things. But now I just don't want to go to work anymore. I have anxiety every morning over nothing, just having to go perform my job. I could do my job in my sleep so I'm just lost and confused. My body is clearly sending me messages to leave. But where do I go? I think I need to step out of patient care.

Know for a fact I do not want to do litigation after one year. Want to try transactional work because I eventually would like to go in house. Firm reluctant to move me around right now because there’s a lot of work in litigation. Anybody struggling with fellow associates in big law? Currently working with associates that will stab you in the back at all costs and don’t care about building friendships, etc. This environment is mentally draining and I feel like I am an outlier for being kind. Truly shows that nice people finish last.

PLEASE HELP! I’m a first year commercial litigation associate at a boutique firm. I am deciding between two offers. One is to go in-house paying roughly the same as I make now. The second offer is from big law as a commercial real estate associate, paying double.

I would love to go in-house and never worry about billable hours again but the big law money is super tempting. Advice?? Is the money really worth it?

As many of you know, NY canceled the September Bar Exam, leaving 2020 graduates like me wondering, ‘Now What’? If NY adopts diploma privilege, (which I doubt), how do already admitted attorneys feel about hiring 2020 grads who could be admitted without taking the bar exam?

Any thoughts on when making a lateral move as a mid-level litigation associate will be feasible again? I want to make a change, but (for obvious reasons) I worry firms may not be looking for any more mouths to feed at this time.
