I think you are right D1, it was worth a genuine effort though. A1, we had to sign a document stating that we had the discussion with him before they cover it in his 6th grade class.

How do you divide your time between your kids? My second is an extra needy and demanding, high spirited kid. My first is laidback and easy going. I always feel like the eldest gets the short end of the stick and never gets enough of my attention even tho she’s always been more attached to me than my husband. She never gets one-on-one time with me as it is since her sister (now 2) is still super glued to my side. Any suggestions for juggling this? Or to ease the mom guilt?

My husband has a strong sense of duty towards his parents - I’ve been very encouraging of it - making sure he has the freedom to be there for his family and parents in whatever way they need or want (e.g. sleeping over at his parents at least 2 nights, attending family events, making sure he goes to all their doc appts, maintaining a relationship with his sisters and their children, etc). His family and I are not from similar backgrounds so we have our struggles so I keep a distance (more below)

Any recommendations on family-based immigration lawyer for consultation? Had filed i-130 for mom in February of last year, which was subsequently approved and she has been documentarily qualified for months after we completed the other forms. Problem is that she has been waiting to be invited to the US consulate (in India) for months and with the current backlog it looks like it may take another 12 to 16 months before the happens. I’m pregnant and need my mom to be with me sooner. Contd.

Am I overreacting in this scenario? My aunt passed away this week. The entire extended family is vaccinated and coming together this weekend for her memorial gathering & funeral. My older sister flew in from NYC and didn’t tell anyone that she had a fever the past few days. She has not been tested for Covid, and exposed my father who picked her up from the airport. He is making her get a Covid test today. I don’t think she should attend any event & potentially expose older family members. AITA?

Ever since the pay-scale and bonus increases, has your firm pressured you to bill more? On at least 3 separate occasions, firm leadership has mentioned billing 2400-2600 and even said billing 2000 is not hard to do (even though we’re still in a pandemic). I can bill over 2k, but I find it strange that this is their messaging almost as if they can’t afford to keep up.
