Between 2 offers right now, a boutique consulting firm and EY. The boutique firm is more management consulting style and works only with the financial services industry.

Boutique Firm:
-$100k base
- 10k signing Bonus
- no time at level
- profit sharing (fwiw)
- would be one of first ~80 US consultants hired

EY
- Technology Risk Consultant for FSO
-120k base
- unlimited PTO
- Big 4 name recognition
- Big 4 perks

TC: 82K
YOE: 2.5

If you have >160 hours of PTO and earn 25 days a year….Just realized that you could theoretically have a 4 day weekend for 1 year by draining your PTO slowly.

How long after you lateral to a new firm (v20 or so) should you wait to take week long vacation? Mid level associate, partners are intense but not always in the office, definitely still proving my worth. How many would you take in the calendar year?

A firm I’m interviewing with has asked me to go and see them during a work day and then fly out next week to a different city for final rounds. I have major deadlines at work. Is it usual for companies to request time off our work knowing how intense consulting can be? How should I balance this alongside work?

If you got three weeks PTO, and wanted to take it in one go, would you take it, or would your employer ask that you split it up? I.e. only take two weeks max at a stretch, come back to work and take the remaining days later that year ?

We need a nationwide cooling off period or were gonna have more looting and more vigilantism.

Declare a national holiday, shut everything down, and establish a curfew for a bit.

Let everyone protest, but make it clear that looters/arsonists/vigilanties will be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent and maximum penalties, no exceptions

Also just want to feel better about actually WFH like I’m supposed to and I don’t have a vacation house.

Anyone here at pwc and recently went on maternity leave? How many weeks did u take? And do you accrue pto during that time? I would think you can use disability benefits first and then add the 8 weeks parental leave and then use your pto. Just didn’t know if you still accrue during your paid leave. Thanks
