EYP superday— was on 10/12. I felt the behavioral went great. Had my first case and tripped up the math a little (missed a zero once and after proposing my approach he suggested I do it another way). But recovered really well and said I did well at the end. Second case— did all my calculations correctly but when I wrote down my approach he moved me in a different direction again (but it was very smooth afterwards). Do I have a chance for internship even though they helped me through?

I read all these situations here and one thing seems certain. If districts don’t do a better job of protecting teachers and reducing these ridiculous workloads and expectations, there are going to be a lot fewer teachers than there are now. The millennials and Gen Zs are not going to put up with the disrespect from students and admin. It’s time to start thinking of teachers’ needs or there aren’t going to be any. I work with lots of younger people and they justly won’t tolerate nonsense.

Does anyone else have a student that they both love and hate at the same time?

I find myself needing to use the restroom way too frequently whenever I am teaching.

There is such a high turn over for teaching now. Most just see it as a job or stepping stone to something easier. I think the high turn over rate is due to lack of training. What do you think?

At my school there are buttons being passed out that say, “She/her, he/him they/them.” I have no problem with anyone wearing these buttons but I don’t like feeling pressure to wear one myself. No one is telling me to wear one but people talk about how inclusive it is to wear one and most staff do. I really don’t think I’m being transphobic by not wearing one but I just don’t want to wear one. What is your opinion on this?

Does anyone find themselves teaching live to black screens? it started with one now almost all if not all of my students are turning off their cameras. Do I just have to get used to this? I'd much rather teach to eye contact to know I'm not just talking to myself! Is it just me?
