How do you deal with parents who are Christian fanatics? They’re very loving, and I am Christian too, but not to the point where I want to impose my beliefs on others. They’re ~50 and I am in my early 20s. Great relationship now but strained if I ever bring up politics.

I feel close to them but plan to never bring up I’m bi. I feel like I have to hide parts of myself to live harmoniously with them.

Dads with older children: while raising your children, did your children prefer their moms over you? I know some will prefer dads over moms, but I assume majority of children out there will prefer their moms over dads… I have one child and it kinda hurts to see my child always preferring the mom over me. I know I shouldn’t feel this way, but I just do. How did you cope with such issue raising your children?

If you are a couple with no kids, how do you go about finding friends in the area? I struggle so much :( most of my close friends are now scattered across the country and I feel like we have no one close to us anymore. I don’t even know how we’d go about making new friends anymore!

Tell me it’s ok not to want another child. Tell me that having one kid is enough and he won’t regret not having a sibling. I am not mentally ready for another child. I’m 40 years old and I’m just done. I like where I’m career wise, life wise. I feel horrible about lying to my spouse. But I can give so much more to this one child than to two.

Don’t you love it when your parents call you to say they “forgive you” but you don’t even know what you did wrong. Apparently it was because I didn’t do something really small (ordering something online) and they were mad. So when I did it last week they were mad, and they’re still mad now. Why do I care?
