I am an hourly employee. Currently if there is a hospital call that needs to be done, someone will volunteer to do it for overtime. Now, my company wants to create a set call schedule. If we get a call at 5pm, when my shift ends, can I still be required to complete the call? I will be paid overtime but don’t like the fact they will force it upon us.

I’m 36, no college degree but have worked my way through banking/AP roles for 3PL, have been with a tech startup since April as their AR Specialist. I applied for AP Specialist role but they offered AR to me & reassured me that I was the perfect fit for it. I report to the controller, they’ve been v supportive of my role, questions, learning curve etc, but I spend much of my day feeling inadequate & waiting for direction/instruction. I currently work 2 full time jobs & a pt contractor for 2 years and I’m currently on the verge of burnout and confused on growth.
