My hair is also a mix of textures and I cannot air dry without looking like a mess. One relatively low maintenance thing I do is use baby bliss hot rollers. I can put them in first thing and then go about my morning doing other things and then just take them out and shake my head! It’s really fast once you get the hang of it.

Brands to try:
Ouidad
Olaplex
Evo
Get a conditioning treatment and a good haircut from someone skilled with curly hair.
Apply product when your hair is still wet from the shower. Sleep in a silk bonnet or at least throw a silk pillowcase on your pillow. ❤️

Of course! I know it’s complicated but a lot of trial and error has led to this and my hair is the happiest it’s ever been. I do this routine twice a week or so. Also I lied about the Evo hair cream! I accidentally combined the names of two products lol. There’s one called liquid rollers (lighter hold) and one called total recoil (medium hold). I’ve used both but prefer the medium hold one because my hair is pretty thick and wild.
I have thick black Middle Eastern hair and the full Brazilian blowout definitely made a huge difference. It made my hair straight though when it took away the frizz. I’ve done a few keratin treatments etc but it’s a lot of chemicals so I decided to stop. My routine now is I wash my hair once a week and after ~20 min I apply Olaplex no. 6 then use the revlon one step hair volumiser (takes 30 to do my hair which is thick, coarse and long) and then apply Olaplex oil afterwards. I do that every Sunday afternoon and it’s been very manageable for the past few years and my hair looks great for the full week.
Good to know- thank you!
I’ve heard keratin treatments help with frizz but keeps the texture/pattern. May need to confirm that though.
Pro
Yes. So will a keratin treatment (make sure to go to a reputable salon that uses keratin without formaldehyde).
What products are you using?
Also, why not blow dry? Or so you air dry when you want it curl/ wave?
Try an air wrap! Doesn’t work for everyone / all hair textures but the brush styler is basically fool proof.
Would see if you could borrow from a friend before buying since it’s a big investment
SC1 try an express treatment first. My hair’s wave is still intact but with less frizz. But like SM1s experience results may vary
Thanks for the tip! I’m not sure if my salon offers the express treatment but I’ll check.
