Sounds like you have lots of activities planned for him :)
Soccer is always a good starting sport and swimming is important as a life skill! We also put my son in skating lessons and then hockey - he didn’t much care for it at first but now at age 7 he absolutely loves it!
Regardless of what activities you choose just being active is important I think :)
My son loved soccer. We tried it in the Spring and will likely continue next Spring. Skating sounds like a good one. thank you
Taekwondo is great if you start around the age of five. I also love the Boy Scouts.
My son started when he was 9 and it has been fantastic for him. There are lots of younger kids in his classes, I think the minimum age is probably right around 5.
Oooo this is my wheelhouse. Ok so it all depends on age. Swimming lessons is a must. My oldest started with gymnastics then soccer then fastpitch. It was all about finding the right sport she loved and excelled in, which was fastpitch. She was a catcher and is now 17 and wants to play collegiate softball. My son (9) started in Tball at 5 and still plays little league. He did flag football, but didn’t like it. And of course swim lessons. My youngest (5) did ballet, she hated it. So I’m going to sign her up for Tball. Start young and find which sport they really get into and are a natural at. Out of all sports, I found baseball and softball to be the absolute most enjoyment sport as a parent to watch your child in. Just my opinion. Leagues are good when they are young. Put them in clubs when they are older and looking for that collegiate level play.

Gymnastics for a few years is fantastic for body awareness and core strength. My kids did speed and agility from the time they could walk- lots of fun body mechanics using cones, speed ladders, balls, buckets, etc.
Agreed - I think trying diff stuff is important. And it’s fun watching them try out different things. It sounds like you tried a lot of things. I can’t wait to put my daughter in gymnastics and ballet lol. What about music - have you tried any instruments for your kids?
Gymnastics was so expensive, my oldest loved it but in reality all she did was play with her friends and not actually learn, so it didn’t make sense to keep her in it. Ballet was expensive too but I think I started my youngest too young, where she just wasn’t ready for it. I’d like to try again in a year or two. My oldest tried (i think) the violin…or the viola. Can’t remember it was so long ago. It became such a chore to get her to practice, I was so over it lol
My son is 2 and we do trampoline classes and softplay at this point. Looked into signing him up for little kickers soccer, but they’re full. Most other activities happen during working hours- how do you manage that??
Trampoline sounds great! I was on mat leave earlier this year so that’s how we did soccer. Swimming is on the weekends. But I see that there are some more things available on weekends in my area. I think what will help is when I work from home I can take him to stuff during the week - fingers crossed.
