Happy Friday! Opinions needed:I have been given a new EA position in my firm with higher duties (cover role for 1year) but no pay rise to reflect this. Is it fair to ask for one (Pro Rata of course)
I was just offered a position with a non-profit organization. It’ll be a great transition from my current fellowship, and I’m super excited about the offer. Now here’s the catch, I haven’t accepted yet, but I am also applying for clerkship with a federal judge. If offered the judicial clerkship, I’d want to happily and eagerly accept. What is the professional way to accept the current offer and possibly leave if offered the clerkship? If it helps, this will be my second post-graduate position.
I interviewed with the client and it has been a couple of weeks since I’ve heard from the hiring manager (3 weeks since 2nd interview). I’ve already informed my engagement team. I was told that they would inform me if there was a decision made and I’ve known previously that the offering process at this company can take up to a month. Should I reach out again for status update or wait to hear back from hiring manager?
In the process of interviewing for a consultant level position within Deloitte GPS. Any insight into salary expectations for this role would be greatly appreciated!
Just learned that my position is being phased out after only 4 months of working for the company and that they are outsourcing using steritech. We have to interview for another position within the company which only has two open positions and it’s 12 of us. My gut told me not to leave the company I was at but I thought the this would be a better opportunity. The company itself it doing extremely well during covid which makes me even more upset.
I want to exit Big 4 into and industry company that offers stocks as part of their compensation package. Aside from FAANG, what other companies should I look into? Open to big or smaller companies.
Looking to make an exit to FAANG (mostly Apple, FB, and Google) into their RE teams. Would really appreciate any info/advice/referrals that could help make this happen. Thanks in advance!
2+ years in Mgmt Consulting. Recently completed FINS certification and considering a move to full time Workday role. What level would you try to come in at for ACN, Deloitte, KPMG, PWC respectively?
Have you come across any good resources for compensation (base, bonus, equity) for a CFO role at a startup? In Bay Area with 200+ FTE's, $75-100M raised (not sure on valuation yet), and solid product.
New job question: I am a CD at a large agency and talking to an small agency about an ECD role. I love the hours, flexibility, work and people where I am but wondering if I am too comfortable.
Is Risk Assurance still hiring? IT Audit Senior Manager here. Love my current company but I am severely underpaid (been at the company too long). Looking for potential referrals. Not in a rush to jump ships but open to considering.
PHR or SHRM? I am looking to get more certifications related to HR vs recruiting, but I am unsure on which one is "better" or will help me grow into more of a strategic HR role. Help!!!
Would you take an industry role that sounds like 1 step/level back in title but $20K more than current salary and 40 hrs/wk? Will the title impede the resume later?
Invited for onsite interviews for a Manager position in EYs Program Management group. I am part of almost the same group at K. I am 5th year Manager and up for promotion this year at K which also..
About to graduate with a MS in Data Science from NY. Saw an "advanced analytics specialist" role for 2020 start at Bain. Anyone familiar with the company/role? nterview process/tools used/salary?
What is the best message when informing the rest of your company that someone was terminated? The backstory is that this employees performance has been struggling, he was put on a PIP, and in recent convos, he’s said that his role isn’t for him. As he is getting terminated due to performance, it feels more amicable now that he knows it’s not working and that he needs to find a new job. Thoughts on message to the rest of the company?
Does branding matter for applications? Currently working at a mid-size accounting firm (think right below B4). Got a very good offer with a boutique. Should I take that or go for B4, or just stay put?
Has anyone taught Romeo & Juliet before? I am worried about the suicide scenes, as I have a few students who recently attempted suicide. How do you deal with that aspect in your classroom?
Would anyone be able to comment on Microsoft's Program Manager interview process? Have an interview coming up and not sure what to expect. (https://careers.microsoft.com/us/en/job/855045) Would appreciate any insight. Thanks!
I have a client who just can’t understand all of the necessary work that goes into doing positioning work for his brand. He doesn’t understand the value. So, does anyone have....
Do you feel like your partner determines so much of your mood? My usual one is on PTO and I'm currently partnered with one that I just don't work well with. I'm so irritable as a result.
If you found this in your classroom (kinda tucked under some papers on your rollie cart) would you read it or throw it away? 😂
Parents of newborns, how are you approaching having visitors during Covid? I’m pregnant and trying to figure out what are reasonable expectations of my family and friends around visitation/holding the baby (anything from washing hands when they come over to quarantining before visiting and holding the baby). I want to make sure we’re protecting ourselves/the baby and our older family members who are at a higher risk. Our families live nearby so I anticipate they may want to visit frequently
Forgive my ignorance - have about 40k in savings and would like to start investing. I do my 401k thru Vanguard so I’d like use them if possible. What would you suggest for a novice investor?
When are offices expected to open? Didn’t think I could be any less productive on a Friday WFH than I usually am ....
How do you decide to allocate your savings? I'm maxing out 401k and IRA, but that leaves relatively little (though a still significant amount) for personal brokerage and cash savings. I already have more than enough for an emergency fund. IDK if I'll live in my area long term so idk about a down payment for a place, and I have a vehicle, so no big purchases on the horizon. No debt. Yet this allocation just feels pretty imbalanced.
Anyone flying right now? I have a trip that’s very difficult to get out of. The state hasn’t been added to the mandatory quarantine for NY yet, and I’m comfortable wit the itinerary, but not the whole flying part. Driving is out of the question since I’d have to drive through and probably stay in a restricted state at some point, as much as I’d love a good road trip
I was on a call with a client who had one kid screaming at the top of their lungs and another playing the harmonica. The fact that he didn’t bother to move to a quiet room was either because he accepted defeat and learned to deal with the noise or didn’t want to have this call with me. Thoughts?
Was typing in a “no, thanks” email to a company I interviewed with, when I received a rejection email from them. Am I ok to feel annoyed and claim I rejected them first?!
Where does PwC send the Amex card? I just did new hire paperwork but, wouldn’t let me edit Billing Address and it’s missing the Apt. number! Do they just give it to you on your first day @Orientation?
Do you think India or China should have a response to US banning certain visa types since it would impact their citizens the most? Any reciprocity implications? Just wondering......
Someone posted a link the other day on interviews this guy conducts and i went down a rabbit hole sad to say. Idk what to beleive anymore. The more i dig, the more i seem to find that this this lady and others arent just lunatics. https://youtu.be/kgnBldI7KPY
Anyone in CHI fly Delta weekly? If so, how is it? I'm a delta guy just moved to Chicago earlier this month.
