Trump campaign leader involuntarily committed for mental health after apparent suicide attempt. Hope he gets the help he needs.
How are folks thinking about permanent life insurance? 45, making let’s say for example (not my exact numbers): $1M per year, not yet vested in pension. Was thinking need to replace the post tax take home, about $550k NPV’ed at 5% to age 55, so that’s like $3.2M. Maybe pension is worth $2.5M so I think that means I should have $5.7 total you want death to have no financial impact. Also was going to do $1M of that in perm w/ LTC rider. Sound right?
What would be a reasonable total comp to exit into medtech or health tech corporate strategy role at senior Manager level? The next level above is Director. Credential is MBA and PhD and 3 YOE post MBA. I’m assuming there is a discount compared to Pharma but is that true? I am thinking base + expected bonus should be at least $210k. Is this too high or low?. Thank you for your insights!
Have a male friend who had been extremely helpful when my parents were sick (neuro related). He’s a recent neurosurgeon, we’re friends since primary school but we havent spoken for a decade since we lived in different coast. In the last 6 months we speak a lot due to his expertise in this health field and generosity to follow up regarding my parents health. What can I send him to thank for his help all this time? Any nice gestures. Fyi platonic only, he’s married

How do you all deal with the guilt of being far from aging parents? My parents aren’t super old (mid-60s) but my dads general health has been less than stellar. Meanwhile my fiancé and I are contemplating our new life and cross country moves and while I’m excited I’m also racked with guilt. How do I handle this? I’m very close to my parents and family but fiancé and I for various reasons cannot live in the same area
I am looking to switch careers. I have been in my current career for nearly 20 years. I need a change. I have masters degree in instructional technology, health care administration, and English. I am working on trying to work my current skills into today's job market. That is more difficult than I anticipated. I guess I'm wondering if there really is anything out there to switch to? I feel lucky to have a job, but it is getting very depressing and difficult to get up for work.
I am a clinical mental health counselor and a credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor and am ready to graduate Emory law in 2 weeks with my Juris Master in Health Care Law.
So I’ve been a nurse for about a decade ( med-surg, ER, Trauma etc) . A recent law school grad ( didn’t take a bar yet because I am not mentally ready to sit for one). I am currently a Risk Manager at a huge healthcare system and my work overlaps with the hospital’s claims and litigation department. And I am building a network of connections. Medical Malpractice is what I want to focus on later. Where does one start best? Defense? Plaintiff? I heard good things and bad things about both.

Trying to figure out how to manage health issues and work balance. I just recently found out I might have herpes (waiting for the test results to come back) and I have been very and feeling like my life is over especially because it came from being cheated on and struggling with prioritizing my bandwidth and not knowing how to communicate it with my team. Due to stigmas around something as common as herpes I cannot comfortably share that with my team.
Looking to break into life sciences consulting coming from a insurance underwriting background, Econ degree, and good amount of knowledge in biomedical sciences(considered pre-med). Anyone willing to chat and provide more info?
For folks exiting to FAANG / Product at start ups or really any hot company. How do you go about networking to get the interview? Do you apply then cold email someone you may have an “in”with, or are you picking say 10 companies and then having warm contacts there that you’ll ping when you see a job. I’ve been passively looking for jobs but zero luck, I only want to leave for the right fit. Big 4 here so feel my brand won’t auto get me an interview like mbb/t2

I joined D's Workday practice as a C and been here ~8 months. I'm getting an offer from a lesser known practice with a 66% increase and a promo to SC. I currently love my job and team. The only motivation to jump is the money. If i stayed at D i'd prob get promoted next year and yet it wont match the salary i'm getting offered today. The money would allow me to reach my goals a lot faster, but is right to move just for the money? I know the work at the other firm will be less interesting.
How long does EY typically take to get back to external FDD recruits? They reached out to me a few weeks ago and I agreed to interview. Had my interviews 3 days ago and haven’t heard from anyone. I currently have FDD offers from two other firms, so considering just going ahead and taking one of those.
