All the #feminism corporate branding from companies that do very little to meaningfully address their systemic issues.
For starters, I responded to the hashtaggy / PR spin emails from both my local and national leadership to initiate a polite discussion on the topic - along the lines of "I really appreciate the visible show of support, but I've also personally experienced that there can be a disconnect between our stated or aspirational stance, and how these things show up in day to day. I'd love to see more concrete action, particularly from the many men in leadership - identifying a time they *didnt* live up to these values, or how they unconsciously contributed to systemic problems, and what they've done to address that. I would also love to see more concrete statistics on the more subtle tells - do we have stats on demographic differences in progression speed, or attrition? Is the firm monitoring trends in personality based feedback or gendered performance review language? How does our firms culture of overwork and glorification of long hours impact particularly working mothers - who often have the highest per hour productivity but our often penalized for putting in less facetime hours"
Etc.
I've also pushed for practical inclusive leadership courses in my local office, beyond the one hour "implicit bias" rubber stamps.
