I want to dispose my office chair and i live in Newton. Anyone knows if i can leave it curbside or where i can check for the details?
About a month ago, someone I really care for and love told me something that essentially implied I’m not worth time, energy or presence. That they are unable to give that. It’s literally broken me since. It’s not as simple as cutting them out and I’m not sure they are aware the immense pain it has caused.
PwC US got a week off this week. Is anyone bothered that India AC didn't get it. I mean we can expect an equal treatment at least in this regard. Pwc AC
Anyone have advice for dealing with big management company landlords who refuse to return a full security deposit? Ours ripped up a bunch of flooring after we moved out claiming it were scratched, but sent us pictures and only about half showed anything beyond minor scuffs. I wrote a series of emails but they're not responsive and it's looking like small claims court is the only route at this point, but seeing if anyone has a better strategy.
Question for any/all who will answer. Long time individual contributor(12+ years) to a fortune 100 company. Past 7+ years have earned between 600k-800k /year after building out a GTM PE practice which currently does $30M+. Looking to take that framework and replicate for any startup or mid market company with direct GTM B2B looking to accelerate revenue. What’s a reasonable ask on equity vs earned income. Thinking 2-4% and 300-400k/ year. Thoughts?
Hi All, I am currently working in IT services based out of Canada as a director with a base salary of $190K. I got an offer from IBM Consulting Canada to join their Hybrid Cloud Computing Group as an Associate Partner - Multicloud in the Financial Services Sector. IBM Consulting offers a base salary of 240K CAD plus bonuses and benefits. Is this a good offer? Any feedback on the work culture at IBM Consulting Canada, particularly in their cloud unit?
Hi fishes, my friend recently had a bitter experience with Dish Network. So her profile was shortlisted and they asked few questions over email. It did take good 2hrs to answer and she replied back. HM said we are good to go for interview and sent an invite. On the day of interview nobody turned up, neither they gave an update later. She did follow up for a couple of days but no response. Is there any reason why this happens ? Me being in HR field felt this to be a little unprofessional.
Last night in the West Village, the NYPD created a situation out of thin air, escalated it, and made arrests. The only people blocking traffic in this video is the NYPD. Hundreds of them. Mostly maskless as they end any goodwill they had in this community

Approved by doctor/HR to remain remote and it’s not going over well( we were told we would remain remote, which included giving up our desks, but are now being asked to come in two days). The person who seemed the most annoyed by my request is my direct boss. I found it odd because she announced she was only doing one day because she was pregnant and the director was basically like “ok”. I don’t want to put a target on my back and I do enjoy the work. Should I just bite the bullet and come in?
Hi, I need your advise… I see lots of jobs as a Manager and lots of people getting hired with great salaries not much skills, however when I apply in getting automatic rejected emails and interviews that go nowhere. I think I’m the interviews they think I am lying of all what I do and current responsibilities and high number of direct reports. Should I tone down on my work and make my experience and actual job seem less than what I do to get interviews and more chances at a good opportunity?
I work for a huge company for 11 years and haven’t been happy for a while. I feel emotionally attached to it because of great benefits, my growth (had multiple roles) and overall culture. Leaving it feels almost like ending a marriage (nuts, right?). Have you ever felt this way about your career before? I’ve seen people leaving and regretting it and seen people leaving and telling me there’s life post XYZ company.
I’d appreciate any thoughts and reading your pov.
How do you deal with coworkers in your practice who don’t have direct knowledge of what you do (either on your engagement but in different workstreams or others who are not on your engagement) interpreting your ambition as back-stabbing and self-serving? How do you change their perceptions? My upper management loves me but a lot of my coworkers don’t and even though at the end of the day it won’t affect my reviews, I still have to work with these people for at least the next 6 months.

How do I find a seasoned professional female mentor? I’m almost 30 and I just feel like I need some help with career direction into leadership roles and advice on self growth.
I have a brand new person on my team- she is totally new to the field, has recently returned to the workforce (solo mom of 3 teens), is very smart. I knew when I hired her that I’d have to lean in to get her to where she needed to be. She has a ton of potential but lacks experience in a professional setting. I need to help her level up her written communication skills. Any suggestions on books, resources, strategies? She is learning by doing and takes feedback but I want more supports for her.
I’m too afraid to take ADHD medication but continuing to work in a very type A world makes me feel crippled. I’m really scared all the time and I️ can’t force myself to get things done, I️ always leave it to the last minute. I always do a great job and don’t disappoint my managers but I’m just so unhappy. I feel so misunderstood.I️ was in contract work and I️ think that worked better for me because once the excitement of a new job was over I️ could start on another contract. Tips from fellow Adhders?
Hi, anyone here experience hair loss? I've been losing hair since I went to college so it's been 8yrs or so and Its getting to a point now where it's noticeable. What type of doc do I see? Has anyone been successful in growing hair back?
Hey y'all! I'm about to start being a manager of a new temp to hire employee, and to be honest, I'm terrified I will either be a pushover or be over demanding due to how deadline driven the proposal writing process is and lack of the ability to say no to some people who bring the proposals to me to write. Do you have any advice on how to start learning to manage others? I currently mentor a few new grads to help them learn the basics of how to work in different sectors as a professional.
So I’ve finally got my first executive opportunity!! However as a very young -looking POC woman, my biggest struggle is unfortunately first impressions and power dynamics.
Ive countered this at my last role as I was there for 10 years, had a proven track record, good rep, knew a lot of people etc - but now I don’t have that luxury!
Does anyone have any tangible tips on:
- how to build relationships when joining remotely
- cues/behaviours you use for initial impact and influence
What courses would you recommend (or avoid) to improve my overall management skills? I am reading books, articles and my company provides me with a career coach. I am 38, and don't really want to go back to school. I have my BS in Psychology, but am a Director in Finance. Don't necessary want the cost that comes with an MBA.
Anyone know if your company is looking to hire a coach to support your management team, leaders, or executives. If so I'd love to hear more about it. Some companies go all in and other have never thought of coaching to support their employees, so I'd love to hear what you're seeing!
Hi ladies! I'm a senior consultant & manager at one of the big 4 and I find myself self-conscious about looking professional (& expensive), especially after 2 years of WFH.
Do you have any tips on how to look expensive on a budget in the professional setting?
Holiday parties with executives are soon approaching and I want to feel comfortable in my own skin, let go of insecurities to let my genius shine ✨
I work in a director position that calls for a significant amount of work that can be done effectively (& efficiently) in a remote setting. I’ll be returning to work following maternity leave and have proposed a hybrid schedule of 3 in-person and 2 remote days each week with flexibility to increase my in-person days as needed. The response from my supervisor was that we’ll need to ‘manage any remote work to maximize on site time’. Any suggestions on how to approach this with him?
Thoughts on changing your name for marriage?? I really don’t want to change my name - I feel like that is my identity, I have a career, I love my family name. My SO & I are on very different pages...
I am contemplating allowing my hair to grow out grey, and stop my every 4 week root-dying. Reasons for stopping are — I’m just tired of having to keep up with it. I am worried this will make me look haggard and impact my “executive presence”. Any thoughts from others?
