How do I gracefully get out of coworkers putting unnecessarily recurring 1:1 meetings on my calendar? I’ve had two of them added recently, with new team members— so I don’t wanna be rude or seem self-important. So I have a Trump supporting neighbor who believes that bee stings contain magical serum to protect from harmful rays. There’s constantly bumps on his arms and legs. He has rat traps scattered in every corner of his house as he believes Democrats are unleashing rats onto the streets to eat all of the bees. Also, when there’s a lightning strike, he immediately runs outside because “lightning is only attracted to wood”. I don’t think this is healthy. He’s a really nice guy. How do I navigate this?

Quick note for folks saying, “Yeah, well, the polls were wrong in 2016!” The pollsters have spent the last three years studying how they got it wrong and learned from it. Just like anyone who learns from their mistakes, they’ve changed how they work, focusing on, and polling more deeply in, the swing states. So you may not want to be quite so confident in thinking they’re going to make the same mistake twice.
