Happy Thursday everyone! I know that as a profession and especially during this unprecedented time we constantly experience and are bombarded with negativity. Including the negativity in our lives away from work, which we see every time we get on social media platforms, or watch the news etc... therefore I thought we could put some positivity out there today and share some positive experiences that have been a result of this wfh/quarantine/pandemic.

One positive for me working from home, has been the opportunity to spend these months with my children which otherwise I would miss out on by spending the majority of my time at the office.

I got laid off for a week and a half, but that encouraged me to find a position that hopefully be a better fit for me long term. I start Monday.

Cheers!

Got a puppy (German Shepherd) and had time to bond and train him up. It has been a great experience and I don’t think I have ever been closer with a dog in my life (many, many dogs in that life time).

My Husky is Zeus and my GSD is Hades. Zeus will do basically anything for a treat, lay down, sit, roll over, “jump” off the fence by running at it and essentially wall jumping, fetch, catch, you name it. However, when he wants to stop or the treats run out I can’t get him to move.
Hades is a pup so he is just learning the basics but he is eager to learn!

My cat is extremely pleased that I’ve not left the house since March. We have been best buds since law school and he’s getting old, so it’s been really nice to reconnect. 😹.

Also, no dry cleaning!

I’ve been home for my son’s first roll over, first crawl, and many moments that may have otherwise happened at daycare.

I'm really enjoying the extra time with my cat! I also used to struggle attending dance classes after work because of public transit & work schedules. Now, between WFH & online dance classes, I'm taking a lot more classes, which has been wonderful.

Quality time with my parents and 3 brothers right before my brother goes away for college. It’s almost like I got to know them all again. (I’m the oldest and have been living in another city for a few years). We’re a very close family but living under the same roof has helped us get to know each other now that we’re all older.

Sleeping in because I don’t have to get up early and get ready to go into the office 🤤.

I bought one of those massage guns being advertised on Instagram and the cat now harasses me for massages throughout the work day.

California attorneys — I am having difficulty finding authority concerning the use of a rejected (partial) settlement offer to claim that a party failed to mitigate their damages. I.E. plaintiff could have mitigated if they accepted the (partial) settlement offer. Defendant offered to settle one claim (without affecting the others). Plaintiff rejected. The value of damages has increased over time and now defendant claims that plaintiff failed to mitigate because they did not accept the offer. TY
