Has any insurance agents out there heard of FFL ? If so, would you recommend them ?

Yes. I have heard of them. Family First Life, I think. I've heard that they have high commission contracts and really good working environment.

Look very close. The company is in the midst of being sued for churning and misleading their potential recruits. Google it. You’ll find all you need.

I have not heard of them. Not much online either. Where are they located?

I currently am an independent contractor of FFL, you should take the person who told you to look carefully before jumping. Once you are in they do not like releasing you from your carrier contracts which usually include several major companies. Those vary depending on your location. Aetna, Mutual of Omaha, John Hancock, etc. You can go in YouTube and find many many videos made by them that can basically answer any questions you may have.and in my personal experience, get comfortable with that. They constantly claim to have all this training for new agents, which they do, 98% of it is find yourself videos on YouTube or other social media platforms. Their social media presence is extensive and you can definitely learn a lot. Research the different teams out there. Of course it's preferred to have a local office but if you find a team you mesh well with and they're 14 hours away, go with the long distance. They are finally coming around to remote work and with all the technology available you can make it work. If you're the type that needs to go to an office to get things accomplished, you're able to go into and use any FFL office whenever you need to. Like for "dial days" when you call all the leads you need to buy each week costing anywhere from low end, $500-2-3-4k... EVERY week. See where I'm going with this ?? New agents just starting out should hold off until you can save up for 2 weeks of leads minimum. The pay is awesome, I can't say otherwise. If you're willing to buy the leads, make those calls on dial days to book 10+ appointments on each appt day, learn your scripts and find your sales groove, the compensation is limitless.
There are pros and cons with everything. Do your research on them, there's contact info everywhere for different teams, Google the ones nearest to you and call them up for a chat. If you can find a mentor within your team, or wherever, I highly suggest taking advantage of that. Working remotely is an option, you'll still need a team, you'll spend more on leads but less on fuel, car maintenance, wasted time, etc. and need to learn more than agents in the field. They're big on closing a deal on a first call now and kinda push that, which is great if you get good at it. No booking appointments, straight into the appointment, and they say half hour max, bam, policy sold and onto the next. Set up your pay carefully for each carrier to get paid how you want. Most carriers are super fast as long as you filled out the proper paperwork. Don't just trust FFL staff, once you do what they say you're supposed to, before you sell one contract to any carrier you call all of them up and double check you've submitted what they require for how you want your payment. Trust me, I learned the hard way with 3 of my main carriers.
I apologize if this is TMI. I'm just trying to help. I believe FFL is not all that they claim and have a negative side for sure. However, they do work with great carriers that pay awesome, and you have the opportunity to do good and can help people by finding the right policy for each person/ family, at the best rate. I hope I helped a little, if you have any other questions about anything feel free to reach out and I'll gladly attempt to assist!

Thanks for the info! I just sent you a DM

So I had a coding interview recently and have decided that the format was actually pretty unfair for people with ADHD. Essentially you have to code the answer on a screen shared with the interviewer whilst explaining it and listening to the interviewer - all of this is anxiety provoking and distracting meaning I underperformed on quite a simple coding task. It felt a bit like asking a person who has dyslexia to compete in a spelling bee rather than a written test.

I was hired by a company that is paying me a ridiculous amount of money to do my job, but they lied to me, they lied to all of the new hires. This isn’t underwriting, this is a call center. We aren’t even allowed to answer coverage questions when the agents call. The call volume is INSANE - like 70+ calls a day. There’s no actual underwriting happening, and I don’t know what to do.
