I’ve seen it done. But I think they made the transition from media to procurement at the same company (client-side). Both roles are closely related to efficient use of marketing budget, which is your connection to the jobs. I’d wanna look at “supply chain” concepts and see how they apply to media and procurement. Spending time on the agency side will also give you a sense for agencies out there doing good work. Your understanding of how the sausage is made could be very valuable. As many agencies that work with procurement are frustrated because procurement applies their widget-buying process to picking a good agency. Which is very different. You can also look at ad agency search consultants and how they talk about helping marketers find agency partners. That will help you think through how to connect what you did with procurement. Last time I checked, the 4As publishes a list of the busier search consultants. Hope this helps.

I’ve been seeing this a lot more recently and just had to make a thread about it. I refuse to believe that anyone on here has actually been asked to work a 100hr week. People come onto this thread with legitimate questions and concerns and I just see people trying to scare them out of public which inevitably makes it worse for everyone else who sticks around. Even an 80 hour week is debatable and that is the absolute top. Stop trying to be an attention getter. We work, but not 24/7.

Anyone else ever feel like a completely inadequate consultant? I'm struggling with performance quality on this project because I just feel dumb and it demotivates me to really strive to improve.
