Has any one done the Fidelity fully paid lending program? I have some stocks that I don’t plan on selling soon. Just wondering if I can lend them? Rates are like 1% . But still it is free money. What am I missing ?

Lend your stocks for someone else to short?

Counterparty default would be a risk

I.e.. if Fidelity itself was to go bankrupt, although unlikely, your stocks are gone. They wouldn't be covered by SIPC

First time landlord, totally new to renting out my place. Would all you prefer a recommend investing in a property management company to just get things started year one, and then once I'm comfortable handle it on my own?

If I put some time into it I could figure it out, I think, but I just started a new job and haven't really had a chance to look into lease, how to manage the income, being available for viewings etc. It's about 10% monthly fees. I could pay zero, but outsourcing is tempting..

Recently tried to buy series-I bonds from the fed and they refused to allow me to open an account without getting a notarized form with my address on it. They say it’s a 13 week processing time, which really pisses me off. Two questions:
1 - would I be able to max out 2022 plus 2023 series-I investments if they were bought in Jan 2023?
2 - is the treasury pulling this shit with everyone? In efforts to get fewer people to purchase series I?

I’ve always avoided annuities but think this one from NY Life is interesting. It’s called a Variable Investment Fund and you can add an Investment Preservation Rider for a fee. The IPR guarantees your investment return will at least be the cash you put in.

Typical portfolio returns about 7.5% after all fees. The commission fee is 2%.

So you are attenuating some upside and paying a pretty hefty fee, but you are insuring agains the downside.
