Does anyone have sound advice for dealing with nitpicking feedback from a skip-level manager? I'm all for constructive feedback but something tells me that this individual might be out for me. I've worked here for 5+ years, I'm good at what I do and I show interest in my work. The feedback I receive feels out of place.
Asking for a friend,

Where would you say is the best place to raise a family as a gay, wealthy couple? A place that accepts LGBT but also is ok with people who have accumulated wealth and don’t hide it.

For example, Dubai is great for wealthy people but terrible for LGBT. On the other hand, Denmark is great for LGBT but terrible for showing your wealth.

So I got invited to do an on-site interview and as part of it, the hiring manager wants me to present some of the chemistry I'm currently working on. The problem is all my work has been government contracted and hasn't been published, so due to confidentiality I can't present any complete schemes or specific structures. Any tips on how to ace this presentation?

Amid covid (2 years ago) I got into a paternalistic/white knight kind of relationship. Basically made SO leave her country to escape from a terrible situation, we weren't official at the time, and I expected things to go a lot more smoothly that they went, love turned more into a protective feeling, however now that I'm changing jobs and in a position where I finally feel like getting the recognition and pay that I deserve I have started to feel a little trapped in my relationship, (Continue)

Hi! I’m currently a tax manager w/ 6 YOE in big4 but looking to transition to ESG/CSR/sustainability. Anyone have experience in these roles and can share their thoughts on transition and what they think about the work? Referrals would be great!

Since the SEC did release some info a few weeks ago, ESG reporting at the very least will be a hot topic for companies.

Has anyone successfully pivoted from a data analyst position to a developer or a technical role that mainly involves coding? I am considering this as I am feeling stagnant in my career (even finding another job as an analyst is difficult). I would really like to hear how others have accomplished this transition!

I am looking to transition from investment consulting in to a more tech role like in cloud finops. Has anyone worked in finops ?

Majority of my department has been informed we will need to look for other positions internally due to our jobs being outsourced. The timeframe for the full transition of all work to the vendors is approximately 6 months. This is the second time in 14 months I have had to look for another position due to outsourcing of work. Since I can only work remotely for my company due to location, is it best to resign or to hold out in hopes for a transition to another department?

I’m just curious about how successful people have been cold messaging someone on LinkedIn. Whether it’s a recruiter or a mentorship or someone who works at your dream company and you’ve tried asking them about their openings, how successful has it been for you?

I've been working in Operations for about 5.5 years at the same company and would like to switch career paths and get into data science. I've been going to university part time to learn python, r and stats but I have this horrible feeling of imposter syndrome when I look for positions. I often read the "entry level" requirements and feel overwhelmed. How can you overcome this and start your career from scratch in data science?

Any lawyers here make a pivot to a tech company? If so, what do you do now and do you like it? Any advice would be welcome.
