I didn’t do a robotic one but have had six hysteroscopic ones. I wouldn’t worry too much about scarring. That can always be taken care of and seen on a saline ultrasound. Depending on the size of your fibroids and positioning, you may elect to have a c section down the line to minimize the risk of uterine rupture.

Myomectomy does lead to scarring. The risk to getting pregnant is pretty low unless there are lots of fibroids, from what I understand (there are lots of places on the uterus from embryo to stick which won’t be scarred). If myomectomy causes scaring of Fallopian tubes that’s different and would prevent natural pregnancy. Depends on where your fibroids are. The bigger risk is at term with the chance of uterine rupture, solution is often early schedule c section.
Keeping big problematic fibroids may be worse for chances of miscarriage.
I’d get opinions from two surgeons and ask them about fertility outcomes for your case.
Had laparoscopic myomectomy two years ago, now in third trimester of first pregnancy.
That is good to know and I agree having a c section is a small inconvenience on the road to having a baby! If you don’t mind sharing, did you conceive naturally after your myomectomy or through IVF? I’ve been going through fertility treatments (had an early MC and a chemical when trying naturally before IVF), and it seems like everything else has been normal aside from the fibroid. Kicking myself a bit for not addressing it earlier (was trying to exhaust all of the non-surgical options first).
Hi OP- had a robotic myomectomy for two grapefruit size fibroids in March 2017 and am now pregnant with twins ( ivf cycle may 2020). My surgeon knew of my plans and she was extra careful about how she managed to surgery.
In 2018 I did a Hysterosalpingogram to ensure everything was clear and took a break due to extensive travel in 2019.
Happy to chat further; dm me, if you have more questions
Thankyou, that’s helpful to know! Did you have to go through the IVF route due to the surgery, if you don’t mind me asking!
