Has anybody had an experience where your employer knowingly lied during the recruiting/interview process? i.e about work life balance, salaries and bonuses. I’ve seen some interviewers be sketchy about it or dance around it but I wonder if anyone outright lies. Hasn’t happened to me, just curious.

Yes - Everyone that attends campus recruiting churches things up a bit.

My previous employer talked up the WFH benefits, only to learn that the pathetic little seniors were very stingy about letting associates work from home. Despite the fact they worked from home themselves, they wanted me to show up to a mostly empty office.

Interviewing for an account executive position at a marketing agency and they are asking for a salary range following my initial interview. I was making $62k at my last job which seemed severely underpaid, especially in Los Angeles. I would be fine with $85k but would definitely be more comfortable with around $92k. Does anyone have insight of what the best response of a salary range would be?

I don’t want to under ask but I don’t want to lose the opportunity by asking for too much.

Trying to apply for another position at the same company but my boss told me explicitly that if they find out people on our team are looking for other jobs, they will stop giving that person raises, promotions, bonuses, & access to opportunities. Was hoping to interview before having to tell my manager that I am applying. Ideas?
