Can someone refer me to another company?
Hello! I’m new to fishbowl and wanted to make my first post. I’m currently in the process of transitioning out of the Air Force and looking for a skillbridge opportunity in project management, preferably located in Tampa, Florida. A few companies I have on my list are Accenture, Raytheon Technologies Corporation and JPMorgan Chase What are everyone’s thoughts on those companies and how military friendly they really are?

Someone just recommended this in another bowl and I’m learning about it for the first time. I’m 35 so fearful I may have missed the boat. Very curious if others here have more info!
I’ll be honest, I have focused all of my efforts on the Air Force. The Army, that’s a whole new world!
There's a waiver for anything if you try hard enough and don't take no for an answer.
Especially with the reserves missing recruitment numbers by a wide margin.
I’m a Navy Reserve officer. It’s an extremely competitive program. We’re talking sub-10% acceptance. This doesn’t even include those who get DQ’d for kicked back clearance once commissioned. Most of those guys/gals have advanced degrees from fancy schools, are prior service enlisted, and/or know some very powerful people. They won’t accept waivers because they don’t need to (this could change, but I doubt it). FYI if you want to know the kinds of people you’d be up against: Sean Spicer, Reince Priebus, Pete Buttigieg.
Army Reserve is currently looking for civil affairs (and logitsitcs) officers, direct commission, plus a bonus. Cut off age is >42 (either 42 or 47, I can't remember which, but I was surprised to see the age in the 40s).

Yes, they accept people up to age 40. Unless you are a medical professional, they require you to be ‘career eligible’ which means 20 years to retirement. This generally means up to 60 without requiring a waiver (I have served with medical professionals that were 72…cardiologist and super nice guy)
DCO is competitive but I’ve sat enough boards to see that most people here would likely do very well. Just focus on service and the ‘why’, (selfless leadership to Sailors, service to country, and a desire to continue to learn) rather than selfish reasons (more pay is the most common answer, along with retirement benefits…just doesn’t ring as well and easy to say no as a board member)
We just did a massive class on the east coast with results not being posted yet (I don’t believe.)
Let me know if you have other questions. I’m a URL officer but serving in the IW community at the moment and can address most questions (was an OIC, staffer, and now an XO)
Yeah, but you have to keep a little journal and record every time you drive off base. And then you have to tell everyone about it on the campaign trail. It’s part of the job.
