Has anybody here found that getting help around house (like a maid coming by regularly) really helped their marriage? I’ve always felt like throwing $ at such problems puts a bandaid on it rather than solving root causes, but sometimes is the bandaid good enough? Newly married and struggling to reconcile mine and my husband’s expectations of what it means to maintain a home.

If it keeps the arguing/stress/frustration down, and you can afford it - go for it! It’s worth the peace and positivity it’ll bring to the relationship

The maid super helped my relationship! I was traveling weekly and would resent coming home to a messy house when I didn’t make the mess. I felt that he could clean every day when he was home alone and we could spend the weekend together. He said he was too busy during the week, so we would spend half Saturday cleaning. That would piss me off bc it would be 1/4 of my off time cleaning. Getting a maid fixed the issue and we spend time together.
