Well worth it for Free CLE Programs. Great place for networking as well.

Agree that CLEs make it worthwhile. Haven’t been able to take advantage of networking as I joint in March

It’s the best deal out there.

like

Just found out that ACC offers a 30 day free trial!

like

It is definitely worth it. CLE, networking, pro bono opportunities and many other reasons. My company only pays for one organization and I dropped ABA for ACC.

Yes and yes.

Join and volunteer. Best decision you will ever make

I’m barred in a no CLE required state and haven’t really seen the value but I think some local chapters are more active than others

DC, Michigan, Massachusetts, Maryland, and South Dakota are the ones I’m aware of but there may be more.

Classic story that most of you have heard. Part venting part asking for advice. My bil applied for a job that matches less than 20% of his skill. With coaching from my husband and strong referrals he got the job(185k as manager in consulting ). Here I am in Consulting for last 6 years barely making 100k. I made a snarky comment that help only gets him this much and he will struggle at the job. My husband , rightly pointed out that I am being jealous, and most folks are fake it till you make it

I have been around 3 months working in a great company with a great salary, just bought a house and have a huge mortgage to pay… but I feel sooooo bored! This job in this company is not what I was expecting. I feel a bit miserable and still missing like 45 years to retire 😂 What’s happening to me? Why I can’t not find the passion in this dream job that I got?

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

In-house counsel - would you prefer working at a big company specializing in a field of law, eg, privacy, IP, employment, etc, or a small company being a general counsel? Assume the small company has a higher risk of going under compared to the big company, but higher reward (via stock), and the large company pays a healthier salary.

Boss is gaslighting? Just experienced this for the first time - and would love to hear others’ experiences, too. For the past few years, my micromanager boss asked that I send them every draft of every contract to review, no matter how minor. In my performance review, when asked why I wasn’t promoted, they said that a reason was because I need to learn to stop sending them drafts to review! I said that I only did this because they asked for it, and they said they don’t remember saying that!

My co-worker is so resentful and competitive because I was promoted over her last year which caused a demotion on her end. People in the company still go to her for things that should be for me but she rarely corrects them. Shes still involved in the company too in a way that allows her to know secrets that I should know about but never do. I technically am above her within the company but this is how things are. I just do my job and try to not let it bother me but it does. Any suggestions?
