Love suburban PA!

NJ Transit is great. Parking is easy — recommend Hamilton not Princeton stop as more people get on in Princeton, so you’re more likely to have a seat from Hamilton. Express is fabulous to get you to penn station, albeit an early start to the day. Once a month is not at all draining. Source: during the M-Th grind times, used to take the train up on friday mornings and continue to do so when visiting the area
Agree with all other commenters that, while beautiful, the area is… quiet.

My aunt and uncle lived in Yardley (just south ofNew Hope) for a long time. It’s a very nice area, easy to get to the city via NJ Transit from Hamilton. Good schools. It’s just pretty dull, but if you want suburbia, then it’s very nice.
I’m in Yardley. Very nice place; agree a little boring. Fairly bucolic though and some other interesting-ish towns surrounding (Newtown, Lambertville). Challenge for me coming from NYC was learning that “Pennsyltucky” is not just a joke but an apt description; i.e., you’ll see more Trump stickers (or enormous flags) than expected. Many more than I actually saw in Kentucky on a recent trip …
Oh and New Hope still has some charm but downtown is a lot less interesting or arty and utterly thronged on weekends

I use to live in Princeton and traveled there often to enjoy the downtown. It’s significant different from NYC, a hard adjustment but if your priorities is to save money and raise children in the suburbs, you get the best bang for your buck over there.
It’s another world, so be prepared to adjust. Not bad but different.
