Has anyone actually been successful giving up caffeine or limiting to manage anxiety? I notice a difference when I don't drink coffee but also feel I'm reliant on it. I know this is true of alcohol also - has anyone implemented lifestyle changes like this? What did you do?
I have to limit caffeine because of medicine I take. I switched to decaf, and I realized it’s very much a mental thing for me; I liked the ritual of having a morning coffee, taking a break to go get coffee, etc. I find that taking the walk to get coffee is what is more important, even if it is just from my desk to the kitchen. I drink a lot more water now so I constantly have to pee, so that also keeps me alert 😂
try green tea, i am very sensitive to caffeine and feel anxious at times after i drink coffee or energy drinks, however caffeine has a natural chemical called theanine i think and it calms you so you get less caffeine than coffee and that calming effect!
As others have said, switch to decaf (or half-caf)
I spent the first 5 years of my career looking at the decaf K-cups saying “who tf would drink this?” and now I love them because I can drink a full cup of coffee at 3pm and not have existential dread for the rest of the day
I switched to Matcha green tea since they still contain lots of caffeine
