Has anyone also struggled to get on a project as a new hire? Doing all I can (I think) networking, volunteering, speaking to staffing manager etc but can't seem to get off the bench.

Don't worry about it. Your metrics won't matter year 1 anyways so try to knock off some CED and any other onboarding you have leftover.

Depends what your MO is, I hear there are some MOs w/o much work arm. Don't worry but make sure you communicate to your counselor what you are doing.

Staffing is a crapshoot as a new hire, everyone in the firm knows it so no one will poor utilization against you, find ppl whose work you're interested in and talk to them (don't just spam randos)

^^I had 5 weeks of bench time as new hire and networked my butt off. Now I keep getting inquiries. LT investment.

I would say let's get you staffed but we are all anonymous here.. Focus on CED and walk around and introduce yourself to ppds

At what level do you have an input to staff someone on the team?

Any level. Obviously more senior has more sway, but if a manager has a need and someone refers you (whether analyst, consultant, etc.) or puts in a good word that goes a long way.

Designate a primary and secondary industry that interest you in DNet to make sure you get all their blasts. That way you know what's heating up. Join COPs for same reason.

Wish I could relate... I'm a few weeks in as a senior and am already juggling several engagements. Enjoy the time to get acclimated.

Savor this moment, you'll miss it when the storm comes!

I am not yet assigned to any project in CG hence please help me whether quitting CG and joining IBM for difference of 4 LPA is wise decision or not. Will CG provide WLB n flexibility
