Has anyone at PwC booked hotel rooms that are out of policy for a training before? Is it worth the risk?

Definitely not for a training. The Firm has a close eye on internal, non-chargeable expenses.

Good luck paying the difference between the out of policy room versus the best alternative.

I did it once and not a word was wrought 😁

Yeah unless it's insane, especially if it's because all/most other rooms are booked. If there's a reasonable explanation sure, if it's just because you want a fancy hotel - no. I've upgraded my room to concierge sometimes lvl because then I don't pay for breakfast (makes the total difference like $10 most of the time, but I'm Midwest and everything is cheaper) never been asked about it. But if you quit I've been told they audit expenses for past months and get way pickier about it.

PwC 🐠: Whats covered under gym/health fees on travel days? Classpass?

I need to make a decision by tomorrow:
Current base salary: $55k
Current bonus: 10.5% (~$5k)
Vacation: 2 weeks
*been with company for 4 years. Started as a product data analyst out of school.

New offer base salary: $90k
Bonus: 12% (~11k)
Vacation: 3 weeks

Counter offer: $80k
Bonus: 14% (~11k)
Vacation: 3 weeks

The new offer would require significantly more travel. I have a young family and value time at home. My heart is telling my to take the counter offer from my company.

Do folks have trusted/valuable resources for researching luxury family travel with young kids? I don’t care the cost, I want to know what is most convenient and nice for my family. Feel like generally most resources are geared to either a) families on a budget (I don’t care which hotel is best bang for buck w/mid breakfast) or b) couples / adults only travelers. Do folks just stick to true five star hotel concierges for help? Do folks just book luxury tours like A&K? How do folks research?
