Has anyone at PwC transitioned to IFS? My daughter is almost 2 but I honestly just don’t have the drive to stay in my LOS anymore. I’m assuming it will come with a pay cut?

I’m IFS and very happy with my salary. Ive always been IFS so I can’t compare. I think the big difference comes in bonuses and training/conferences. If you can swing it, do it. There are plenty of late and stressful nights but nothing like the craziness I see posted here!

I’m in PwC Technology (US IT). There’s a ton of roles posted. PM me if you have any questions

I transferred from Assurance into IFS and can’t be happier! I need to work a little more than 40 but not always. Never overly stressed. Didn’t take a pay cut, just progression will be much slower and as a result salary increases will be insignificant too. But my sanity and time spent with my little guys is much more important to me!

Kids and ice. I think it’s super annoying as they want to fumble around in the freezer, play with the ice, and it just makes giving them effing water complicated which I don’t need. They’re six and four. I totally allow it on hot days. But today they would it shut up about how it’s not fair (I was having some). I fished my cubes out of my la croix, dumped them in the sink, started them down, and said problem solved. Am I losing it?

When starting a role at a new company, do you typically spend the first month setting up 1:1 intro meetings with people from different teams that you work with or do you wait to run into people during meetings and introduce yourself along the way? Asking because I’m a huge introvert and prefer the latter.

To those of you who invest excess HSA funds, what do you normally buy?

I’m considering just VTI or VOO. Theoretically I won’t need these until retirement related medical expenses. Should I be concerned about unforeseen medical emergencies?

For reference, I just transferred by HSA balance that’s been piling up into a new brokerage account. It’s about $3,000, and I left $200 in my HSA account associate with the debit card. I’m 27 and incur basically no medical expenses.

Just received an offer for a TPM role - Fully remote TC - $125k base w/10% annual bonus (no stock options, no sign on bonus). My current - remote, could switch to hybrid, TC - $110 base w/10% annual bonus, $20k stock options vested over 4 years and a $5k sign on bonus I have to pay back if I leave before May 2023.

New company won’t budge on a sign on bonus. Does it still make sense to accept the offer?

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I think that long-arm statutes are terrible for our system. You shouldn't be able to file in the state that you live in. As a policy matter, I feel the default should always be where the defendant lives unless the contract states otherwise.

I am an “international” copywriter as they call us, and people at the agency are constantly changing my copy. Sometimes even without telling me. There always seems to be something “wrong” with it.

So, I and another American copywriter made an experiment the other day: I presented HIS copy and he presented MY copy. My stuff got so many corrections and his stuff didn’t get any.

Do any other international copywriters go through this bullshit?

Did anyone exclusively bottle feed with formula from birth? I’m made to feel like an amoral freak for considering it. I am fully aware BF is best cos of antibodies and bonding etc but I have a previous issue and need to consider formula + bottle as an alt. However *every* article I find or attempt to read up on this assumes you’ll only do it to supplement breastfeeding.
Are there *any* formula moms out there whose kid turned out OK?

Mamas, how much do you spend on gifts for other kids/toddlers birthday parties? We just started our 3 year old in daycare/preschool and there’s a birthday party all the time it seems. For good friends we spend around $50-$100 for their kids gifts but it’s starting to add up, especially for classmates my kid doesn’t know too well. What’s your average?

How do you deal with unequal salaries within global teams? In particular, between the UK and US? I am a manager in the UK and my senior team member who reports to me in the US, earns a third more than I do. HR in the UK believe I'm being paid fairly. I'm a female and he's a male so I also believe that a male in my position in the UK would be paid more.. Let alone what they'd be paid if they were based in the US. I love this job but I want to know how to ask for more£ at my review in April. Help!

Best way to fire a nanny? I hate to do this because she’s so nice, but we are just going in a different direction for the kids. I’m going to reduce my caseload (which includes a pay cut) so I can be home more. I’m currently working out the details with my firm but everything will likely be in place by January 2022. How much notice is appropriate to give? Does anyone have experience with this that can lend some advice?
