Hey Fishes
Can anyone share Mutual Fund schemes in their Portfolio?
I am a newbie and planning to start investing via SIP's in MF ( Around 4-5 SIP's of 10k each)
Thanks in advance.

Also agree with K1. I've never heard of having to pay back your signing bonus because you got fired for performance or laid off. If anything, everyone I know who got fired for performance or laid off got 3 months severance to look for a new job.
OP - This was at another T2 and not OW. But yes, all the folks I saw released were new hire associates with 6-9 months of consulting exp.
AFAIK, we do have a severance pay plan at OW. I don't have a copy in front but I would search for that. If I recall, it also outlines what is for cause and I don't believe performance was one of them.
Hey OP any update? Hoping for the best!

I’d be surprised if you had to pay back in case of involuntary separation
Update: not being fired just yet.. sounds like I get one more go
Update: not fired yet. Keeping the bench super warm.

What do you do for OW?
Fired for cause can be due to performance but it puts the firm at risk of you suing and if you owe the bonus back you probably should threaten to sue. It’s cheaper to let you not pay it back than to defend a suit, even if they did nothing wrong.
However, if you lied, cheated, did something illegal or highly unethical…then yeah, you’ll be fired for cause.
You’d sue that it was discriminatory or that in some way was unfair. Way easier to fire without cause and pay severance / unemployment. I’m not a lawyer but this stuff is crazy - just today a guy working in a sheriffs office got $1.5M for being disciplined multiple times for putting Nazi materials on his door and joking about the holocaust…
Almost no company asks for the bonus back in case of a firing / layoff

What did ya get booted for
You can file an amended return
The amended return idea sounds promising thank you!
Yeah there’s a clawback on my signing bonus is what I’m trying to describe
Update: they are still thinking about firing me 🔥🔥🔥

You should be applying at other firms anyway. If you get hired don’t file your two week notice, just stop logging in and get fired (no bonus payback).
Not fired. Still waiting on next assignment tho. Job searching passively.

Why not be more active until you secure another internal project?
My contract says if I’m ‘released for cause’ so guessing I will have to pay back

If you’re fired - I don’t think you have to pay back???
I’m not being fired yet but just got rolled off 2nd project in a row for performance so guessing I’m done on Wednesday. Interesting perspective AP1 thanks for sharing.
Sorry to hear this. I’m sure it doesn’t feel great. Given how busy we are, you may still get more chances, but it’s worth speaking openly with your talent manager about your concerns. They can probably alleviate your concern about the bonus itself, and if you do get another chance it’ll be worth getting their input (and your career advisors input) on how to make the most of it.
Agree w K1. I’ve never seen someone have to pay back a signing bonus. Yes on relo, retention or grad school / tuition but there are clear clawbacks.

You ok OP? Hopefully you’re not too down on yourself.
Are you uk based? If so there’s some places that can help out pro Bono ex lawyers
I’m doing ok thanks D2. Never failed at anything like this so it feels really bad but I’ll land on my feet. Based in CA.

Good to know. Fwiw, I currently feel like I’m struggling but keep getting average reviews likely because Deloitte is so understaffed. Feels like I’m one down cycle from being in your situation.
