You either use the four weeks prior or lose it. You can chose not to take it though and add that time afterwards but you won’t have the financial benefits.

Yea it’s use it or lose it. Can’t postpone it.
STD?
K2—yes our policy allows up to 4 weeks before your due date. However, the firm starts counting your time off from the moment you leave so many people who want to take the full 6 months of job protection and maximize their time with baby choose to take only some or none of the 4 weeks.
The firm’s policy does not allow for this. When you go on STD, the Prudential policy pays you and you are subject to its constraints
