Heading to Hawaii at the end of January for a week’s vacation. Trying to do as much as we can to get the experience. I had been there a few times when I was little, but I know I’ll appreciate it a million times more this time l. Any tips on how to get great deals on experiences?
We are on a staycation. I have taken 1 half an hour call and maybe answered emails for 30 minutes. My husband has taken at least two hour calls and is answering emails for longer. He has always had a hard time unplugging (when in Europe he got so anxious he was away and worked a few days). I know in Covid this is hard. But I feel like he doesn’t make this a priority. Also, he works in government and repeatedly complains how people don’t respond off hours / on vacation. Am I being unreasonable?
If you have to work holidays for a client but use your floating holiday in the same week, does that affect the holiday pay for the holidays you did have to work?
Returning from 2 weeks PTO and questioning every life decision that has led me to where I am today
Suggestions for a professional out of office auto reply? I'm going on my first vacation in years. I've only seen examples where people say they have limited access to email while they're out. I don't want to give anyone the impression I'm looking at anything during my vacation.
How bad would a layoff be if you get a nice severance and paid vacation from it? Been on my mind. Assuming getting another job will happen but man that paid “vacation” sounds amazing. Bad thoughts!
Need advice on pet issue…have a 15 y/o Morkie and 7 y/o Yorkie…both female and spayed about 5lbs each. Have had the older dog from a pup and rescued the Yorkie about 5 yrs ago. Took a year (and me to go on a 2 week vacation and left them with my husband) for them to co-exist without killing each other. Yorkie is on Prozac after behavioral therapy at Penn…she has a lot of jealous issues but I don’t think the Prozac does much. They would have maybe 1 fight/mo
Should I tell new firm that I need time off to take CA bar before or after I accept the offer?
How is RSM PTO? Understand it’s unlimited, which limits more than accrued, but any insight on what you like/dislike?
What would you do if your CEO asked you to be the face of the company (sales) at an event in a month (Thursday-Saturday) in another state, and you have had a Hawaii vacation planned that has been booked for months & is supposed to start on that Saturday?
The event would cost the company ~30k and the audience is the prime audience for the channel I lead.
How is PTO truly unlimited if leaders are notified when people take too much (whatever that means) PTO and will tell employees to not take more PTO? Isn’t that just limited PTO except instead of it being documented it’s just up to whether your leadership thinks you’ve been taking too much PTO and/or if they like you?
I haven’t gone on vacation or been on a plane in years. I’m afraid to take off outside holidays when everyone is also on PTO. Officially going on a beach vaca in two weeks! Any book recs? I like thrillers or silly, light hearted romance.
Medicus Firm, good or bad company to work for?
I recently got an offer from The Medicus firm that is much better than my current physician recruiter role for many reasons (plus 15k to base salary, PTO structure, remote only, better commission structure). I really dislike my current company mainly because of how upper management treats the recruiting team. I have only been in my current role 7 months but I am wondering if it is worth it to make the switch? And how is Medicus reputation is?
What’s the wildest thing you’ve had to do or see change because of the unpredictable nature of M&A? I had to start a deal from PTO and review a VDD on the plane coming back from vacation.
How can I support a friend going through a divorce if I’m out of town M-Th and with the holiday season I’ll be gone til the end of month?
EY folks, if I give my month notice, can I take a scheduled week long vacation in the middle of that notice? Or do I have to give notice 5 weeks out, and factor in the week off midway?
Encouraging you to take time off is just a way for agencies to “test” what would happened if they furloughed you....

I am an investment banking summer analyst and I am worried about not getting a return offer. I do good work on time, with attention to detail etc. But they are only taking 6/12 interns and I am not sure I’ll be chosen. I don’t really like the company culture of this bank so I don’t want to stay but I know the return offer is really important in order to continue my career in banking. Give me any advice I’m freaking out!!!
Ok…I need help and Google isn’t giving me the help I need. I make too much to do a Roth IRA now. What is my best “order of operations” at this point for investments? I have pretty much all my accounts with Vanguard for ease. I also am totally lost on how you find a traditional IRA if money from your paycheck into your bank acct is all post tax (there has to be something I’m missing)…
Also, I have an HSA a BoA but I left Deloitte. Do I keep the HSA there?
Thank you 🙏🏼

Does anyone on here work for a mortgage company? If so, would you be able to share how much paid maternity leave (if any) you get? I’m putting together some information for my executive team to hopefully sway them to put a maternity leave program together. Thanks in advance!
Retail Manager for 20 years - was with the same company for 4 years. Never written up, never had a conversation about my performance or professionalism. Earned exceed expectations on all reviews. I was terminated for a non- fireable offense (based from employee handbook) and I’m 6 months pregnant. I am speaking to an attorney and have the opportunity to have it reinvestigated. I just want my maternity leave - don’t want to go back it was a very toxic environment. Not healthy mentally& emotional
Started with a new law firm in a new practice area in the fall. Now I’m pregnant with my second child and due this summer. The firm offers up to 4 months of leave. I can’t think of a good reason why I would shorten my leave despite being relatively new at the firm and in the practice area. I’m honestly concerned I will resent it if I do. Would you shorten your leave under these circumstances? If so, why?
Can I get advice from any single mums that work full time with no help please..? how do you handle work with kids that are fully depend on you? I am worried as I literally have zero help (other parent is non existent). How do you find time for yourself??
I really need to get this off my chest. I’m physically and mentally exhausted trying to look for work this last 6 months. I’ve been networking, applying to jobs i qualify for and I’ve had my resume professionally reviewed. Had couple of interviews and NOTHING. I’m at the end my rope here. If I don’t find work soon my family will be sleeping on someone’s couch.. I’m just so tired. Tomorrow morning I’m going to the local staffing agency to seek help…
I just was wondering since a lot of the #dental community I keep hearing gets commission for #treatment? #CareCredit? & Sunbit? I currently do not. But I did just start with #Sunbit & within my first month, already $13,670. The other offices have had Sunbit for 2-3 months & only have done about $2000-$3000.
My live-out nanny tested positive for Covid last night. What protocols should I follow? When can she be back to work? Should I ask her to wear a mask when she’s back? For now, I told her to stay home till next Tuesday. My daughter is 14 months old and hasn’t gotten Covid, the vaccine or any sort of immunity towards it. I want to be as careful as I can!

I am a new mom and have a 5 month old little boy. I am looking for a remote position currently (sadly with no luck so far) but I am so nervous to go back to work and leave him with someone other than myself.
Hello, I am Canadian but married to a French guy. We have 2 kids under 3 together but he is still not able to relocate because we are waiting for the sponsorship. He had an amazing opportunity in Africa. This is a chance for us to live together because raising babies alone and being a full time employee is not easy specially when you had been pregnant 2 times in 3 years. I want to move there but I am concerned about the job. May be start a digital nomad journey? I need advice please. Thanks
I have been feeling super guilty lately because I have zero patience with my kids and find myself snapping at them (5 and 8 yo). I just feel sad, tired, irritated, and like ‘I can’t’ most of the time. All I want to do is be by myself and relax 😭 They are watching too much TV because I feel like it’s the only way to get some time to myself. My husband does his fair share but he is busy with work too. Anyone else going through this? It has never been this bad for me and I’m starting to worry 🥺
About to hire a nanny. I will be WFH. Silly question but what do nannies do for lunch? Am i expected to provide or does she bring her own? I am usually running around so make a quick sandwich/salad or even cereal - nothing special and usually have zero time.

I am a couple weeks away from putting my baby in daycare full time, the day he turns 12 weeks old. Tell me it will be ok!!! I am excited to go back to work, but I don’t want to leave him. And I have no idea how I will consistently get up, get both of us ready, and out the door to daycare before 10am.
