Chadwick Boseman.. him working through his terminal cancer messed me up
This^^
He was filming and doing talk shows and charity stuff while dealing with treatment, etc. and - I’m assuming at some point - facing his mortality. I’m a giant baby of a grownup that can’t even fathom that.
No. I don’t get upset over someone I don’t know dying, and you shouldn’t either. You all need to grow up and quit being so invested in the lives of celebrities that wouldn’t know you from Adam and couldn’t care less about you.
D3 that's a good way to phrase it. When my fav tahoe died I didn't mourn them as a person so much as I mourned the loss of the world they had created.
Kobe
Kobe for sure. I loved to hate on him as a western conference rival, but man it was sad to see him go.
RBG really hit hard
Yeah. After being sober for over a year I went out and bought $200 in liquor the day she died. That sucked.
Anthony Bourdain
Alex Trebek. Grew up watching him and Jeopardy at the dinner table
When the producer came out and said the last words I wanted to burst out in tears.
Prince
I cried when I heard Robin Williams died.

Paul Walker and Robin Williams

RBG and Bourdain
Steve Irwin, mainly because I was younger. Think it’s kind of odd once you’re older.
Chadwick and Jose Fernandez (he was my age, worked so hard to come to the US, and seemed thrilled to go do what he did every day)
Thanks for sharing! Normally I don’t react beyond “oh that’s sad” when I hear a celeb dies, but there have been a few 2020 deaths (Kobe, Naya rivera, RBG) where I’ve full on sobbed
Brian Jacques. Huge part of my childhood
I loved the Redwall books. I feel like so many people don’t know them.
Whitney Houston and George Michael. HUGE piece of my youth died too.
Mac Miller
Terry pratchett
Absolutely Anthony Bourdain. I’ve watched him for years and we are very similar people.
I was devastated but not surprised when he took his own life.
