The only way to find peace in these situations is to convince yourself out of your current narrative. Your client went to someone else because they thought you seemed super busy. There was no tone to that email, they were in a rush when they wrote it. The more you subscribe to the negative assumptions, the more they manifest as your reality. Think about how annoying the person who’s deathly terrified of being perceived as annoying is because they need constant validation that they’re not. Reverse is also true - subscribing to positive (or at least neutral) assumptions = positive reality.
Tactically speaking...try to catch yourself when you’re feeling one of the anxieties & think of one of a million possibilities of another explanation of the situation & go with it. Done. That’s what’s happened. Moving on. Over time your perception will slowly shift
It feels good initially but it gets on your nerves when trying to accomplish some tasks, with every small requests that would be obvious and easy to resolve by looking under the carpet.
