If you’re going to mainland around mid March was prime time last year. They should be releasing their map/schedule in Jan if it’s not already out. If you go to Oki it’s end of Jan time frame because after that it’s too hot. This is last years map

I contacted a few travel agencies bc I'm planning this trip...it seems like prices SKYROCKET around the time and I just don't think it's gonna be affordable for me. Gonna go in he fall instead as I've heard it's just as gorgeous and not nearly as packed

Not yet. However, I am planning to go next year. Commenting for tips here too. Thank you in advance.

Hello, OP! The best time to go there is in January. Have fun on your vacation!

Konichiva, I stayed In capsule hotel in Tokyo. I was there in Jan during snowfall. We also visited Kyoto via bullet train to visit Universal Studio. It was all fun and great trip but layer up since its cold during Jan.

I have nit seen the cherry blossom but will plan someday. Arigato!

My advice: Book your tickets and hotels asap

On my next year's bucket list. Never been to Japan so I am so excited to be there maybe by February or march. Which city is the best place to go?

They are most usually in full bloom between Osaka and Tokyo between March 15 and March 27. (average for the past 5 years). After April 6, you'll only see green foliage.

If Cherry Blossoms are a big priority then you can consider extending further south into Kyushu which is usually a week ahead of Tokyo. the dates fluctuate each year because of climate and nature's randomness,

From what I know, the best time to visit Japan, especially the Kanto region, to see the cherry blossoms would be from late March to early April. The best place I've seen the blossoms were at the Meguro River in Ebisu District where the cherry blossom trees line the river.

Book early! I was there, hotels were extremely expensive and everything was fully booked.

Yes! It was stunning. Straight out of a movie. Best time to go is between the last week of March and first week of April. Sometimes even early May. Good thing we went there in May, locals told us you won't see any pink cherry blossoms until May.

During the day, crowds of people gather in several popular spots to enjoy the sakura. You'll need to get up extremely early in the morning, perhaps at dawn, if you want to capture the grandeur of nature without any people in it.

Hi! I found this article online. Hope this helps. https://alljapantours.com/japan/travel/when-to-go/Cherry-Blossoms-in-Japan/

Tokyo, Kyoto, and Kanazawa — can generally be pegged to the last week or so of March, into the first week or two of April. Of course, this time frame often overlaps neatly with schools’ spring break in the northern hemisphere, not to mention Passover and Easter holidays. In other words, in addition to the blossoms themselves, it’s also an ideal time for many families, and others maximizing limited vacation days.
Usually it is still fairly cold at this time of year, but if you’re lucky hanami season will be sprinkled with warm days.

Hello! While the end of March and beginning of April is a relatively safe rule of thumb, it is definitely not guaranteed!

If you are dead set on trying to experience cherry blossom season in all its glory (and hecticness), you’re also going to have to plan early. Really early. Because of how popular this time of year is, and because of the fact that (as mentioned above) Japan’s tourism infrastructure hasn’t been able to keep up with demand, we usually recommend planning your trip around 9-12 months in advance.

Not yet! That's my ultimate dream! I'm here for the suggestions/recommendations!

I got all our airline tickets and hotels booked this May.

Here is the map for this year. 🌸
