Has anyone been to Valle de Guadalupe, wine country of Mexico? We live in LA and were contemplating a drive down but wondering about overall safety, covid, etc.

Should be safe to drive, I probably wouldn’t drive late at night to be completely sure but you shouldn’t worry during the day. I think you’d have a fun time.

I’ve done it a couple of times. Best option would be to hire a driver instead of driving. Multiple companies operate tours, they pick you up from border, drive you to wineries/restaurants/hotel/Airbnb and back to the border.
Definitely a great area, it is safe and last time I went there in April, they took covid kinda seriously :)

I don’t recall seeing kids in any of the wineries I went to, but I’m sure there are places that should be baby/kids friendly.
A roadtrip in Baja is a really good idea!

We have 5 attorneys (3 partners; 2 associates). Senior associate (who is being promoted to non-equity partner) is pregnant. We don’t have any sort of maternity policy but she will have 3 weeks of PTO to cash in. How do other firms handle cost of insurance premiums while ee is out? We currently cover ee portion and she pays for 100% of dependent cost. Is it reasonable to ask her to write check back to firm for her portion of dependent premiums? Assume she is taking full 4 mos off.

Considering moving into this apartment complex, and it's a gorgeous little gem and recently renovated, but I just learned that it's a former WWII US Army medical facility... So, like, I'm not super into ghost stuff, but it's kind of eery to imagine sleeping in the same room where some poor WWII soldiers might have gotten their feet amputated or whatever. That, and apparently the leasing office isn't great. All that said, should I go for it? 🤔

Wow…covid is really over. I live in a rural area where we knew covid was happening but it never really impacted the community or daily life. However when I’d go into the city it was very very obvious there were huge life impacts and fear. I just went into the city for the first time in about 3 months and it’s like covid never happened. It makes me wonder how many other things that have drastically changed (like wfh and hand sanitizer) will go back to normal as people go back to normal.

Need advice!

I currently have 10% shares in a very small f&b group owns 2 restaurant outlets.

One of them have been hit with covid and we are suffering in sales. Our director somehow don’t believe in marketing and will not budge to allocate resources to hire a personnel. Our staff are underpaid so there are no incentives for them to go beyond their SOW.

What are some of the ways to drive more sales?

If we have to raise a small round to cover the next 6 months of OPEX - is it a feasible?
