It's hard for me to quit anything.

Yes, the biproduct of Marine Corps training. Many battles with the wife because of it. Though.

In my first 5 years, I quit (in my head) a hundred times. Fortunately I never spoke it to my manager. I stuck around because I was good at this and I truly believed I was/am helping people make life determining decisions no less important than their cardiologist! I also KNEW it is a war of attrition. I don't have to last forever, I just have to last longer than the other guy(rookie) in my office. Kinda like out running a Grizzly. I really just have to be faster than YOU.

Nearly every day. Over 20 years + have been regional, wire-house, independent and large agency. Has never gotten easier or consistent.

Thought about it many times over my 21 years. This business will chew you up and spit you out. But I knew if I found the right situation that would allow me to fairly benefit from my effort , I could succeed. Glad I stuck it out.

For the married and/engaged ladies, did you have any pre-wedding jitters? I recently got engaged (yay!) and I have felt for a very long time that my partner truly is my soulmate. I don’t have any reservations or hang ups about marrying him, but the sole idea of a lifetime physically makes me anxious. I feel guilty having these feelings when I couldn’t be more certain about the decision to marry him. Can anyone else relate?

In myCompetency portal, my primary skill is being displayed as X, where my primary skill is Y. When I tried to change it, it goes to my approver for approval and she's declined to approve it with reason that your interview was taken for X technology however it is not correct, my interview was taken on Y technology only.

Also, she mentioned that your current project is based on your X competency so we can't change it.

What's the most effective way for a small RIA to recruit FAs who have a few years experience, want to break away from large/corporate firms? I'm a $70M fee-only (commissions for insurance) independent RIA with a generous comp schedule that enables FAs to own their own book while they grow. As the owner, my focus is to help FAs succeed; as a firm, our focus is on client service and helping them succeed. I can afford a small salary, but not benefits. I'm especially interested in female FAs.
