It's hard for me to quit anything.

Yes, the biproduct of Marine Corps training. Many battles with the wife because of it. Though.

In my first 5 years, I quit (in my head) a hundred times. Fortunately I never spoke it to my manager. I stuck around because I was good at this and I truly believed I was/am helping people make life determining decisions no less important than their cardiologist! I also KNEW it is a war of attrition. I don't have to last forever, I just have to last longer than the other guy(rookie) in my office. Kinda like out running a Grizzly. I really just have to be faster than YOU.

Nearly every day. Over 20 years + have been regional, wire-house, independent and large agency. Has never gotten easier or consistent.

Thought about it many times over my 21 years. This business will chew you up and spit you out. But I knew if I found the right situation that would allow me to fairly benefit from my effort , I could succeed. Glad I stuck it out.

On of my reports (sr level) ignored the brief deliverables and did a lazy job for our 1st checkin. I brought it up to him straight without being emotional and offered another week to redo.

I did not have a good retrieval and I’m having a hard time processing. This cycle took so much out of me, I don’t know if I can do it again. I just want to cry.

Anyone who purchased a 2nd primary residence and turned the 1st into a rental, how much savings/income did you have relative to your mortgages?

I’m looking to rent out my current residence and purchase another to live in & rent. Someone advised I not purchase a second place until I can afford to fully cover both mortgages. Makes sense in theory but who actually does this in practice? Wouldn’t a few months savings if I’m out a renter be more realistic?
