Has anyone completed Udacity Product Manager nanodegree? Is it worth it? Did it help you pivot into a product role?

I highly doubt an online nanodegree will tilt the scale in any meaningful way in an application process. This is regardless of how good the content is

I liked the course and think if you lean into the projects you’ll come out with a good portfolio to speak to during interviews.

I’d also began practicing case interviews as well when you are 3-6 months close to interviewing

Whoever said employers don’t care about grades and transcripts after your first job was a liar. Every lateral position that I’ve applied to as a 3rd year has requested transcripts. Why do we lie and tell grads that employers don’t check transcripts when they do. My coworker, a 5th yr, had to submit his transcripts also to lateral job. Side note - it speaks volume when multiple associates are trying to lateral at the same time

As the job market recovers and tech talent becomes especially sought-after, some job seekers can be at a crossroads.

Fledgling startup or a big, established company: where would you work?

Working at a startup helps you pick up new cross-functional skills, forces you to dig deeper into your reserves, and allows leadership opportunities.

Big companies typically have a more structured path for career growth, offer benefits and perks to employees, and are perceived as more stable.

I’m in a bit of a unique situation where I’m deciding between MBB and MM private equity (both NYC, I have ~2.5 YOE).

Main considerations are money and WLB, especially weekends. I’d be curious to hear perspectives on WLB differences between the two either anecdotally or from people who have experienced both. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi all, I’m looking to switch into Strategic Finance at a tech company and was looking to chat with someone in a similar role. I have total 4 yoe, the last 3 being in a quant role at a major valuation firm. I want to switch into a more cross-functional and strategic role while still working in finance which is why a strategic finance role seemed a good fit. Finding it tough to get interviews so looking to connect with people in these roles. Thanks!

Looking at exits into pharma and biotech. Have an opp at a biotech at the SM level. Total comp excluding equity is around $190k; RSUs vest over 4 years with annual refreshers, so first year equity would be around $6,200 and it would go up by $6,200 each of the next 3 years, plus whatever base bump I get. Very good benefits package.

They envision 2-3 years before I jump either to AD or right to D. Solid opp? Or hold out to go straight to director level?

Hi all! To qualify for an L1A visa, do you have to be a senior manager / executive level or does it work as long as you’re a manager? I just moved out of the US because the H1b lottery didn’t work out for me, and I’m thinking rather than spending 1 or 2 years in my home country and go back as a senior, I’d much rather work here a bit longer, get that manager title, wait a year, and then go back as I think that would be the fastest route to green card..? Any thoughts/advice? I’m from 🇰🇷 :) TYI!!
