Capgemini I joined sometime back at D1 level , I do technical work most of time like coding, dev, testing etc.
I have worked a lot in my 14 years and still have required skills needed for the work. I don't have energy to slog any further. Moreover I get anxiety when I see junior level people doing same work as me and earning more or same.
I feel cannot sit longer hrs due to back issues and other health issues and family commitments.
Can I change to management side without risking my job .

I considered it. I applied. They wanted to bring me in as a senior, despite interviewing me for the manager position, and I immediately noped my way out.
Yes that is correct. They wanted to pay me less than I was making and demote me.
Funny - I’m a big4 manager and actually considering a move to one the mid tier firms you mentioned. The pay seems to be significantly higher and I can’t imagine the benefits are massively different (maybe aside from PTO)
Also in audit! New manager this year. I’ve received emails from a few mid tier firms for financial service industry managers with comp 20-40k higher than I’m making now (sounds ridiculous, yes - but these firms are specifically looking to grow in my city and in the industry I work in)
What's your long term objective that you think this move would advance?
I would think that it depends on your market. Sr’s at mid tier make like $15k less than Sr’s at big4. The spread ay manager is a lot more.
I made this move. The pay is higher at a mid tier. Whether it’s a setback really depends on your end game and the team you join. It has worked out well for me so far.
A team member in my promotion class moved from mid tier to mid tier and Got a 20% raise on top of the raise to manager. tier doesn’t matter as much as the move.
