Why in the world would you ever do that?
Well this one started drinking early
Put down the drugs
That is an awful idea lol. Why move backwards and receive less money?
I literally can’t see a single benefit of doing that
I think they mean as a “fresh out of school” MBA, in which case, they’re probably in a strategy practice or making 2x what a staff with just undergrad would be.
And I think about it all the time and am actively pursuing it
If you’re already a senior, it’s not like you would “start over” as a staff 1. You would be an experienced hire Senior at the next firm
If you think an MBA is going to double your salary you live in a world outside of reality. Once you have a CPA no one gives a dam about an MBA.
Wait what?!
I think about this all of the time. MBA would double my salary
Get in a top 10 MBA for sure. Audit has no future. As long as you hit Senior, leave.
No
I think that is the worst idea ever...
Getting a CPA doesn’t negate the benefits of a MBA. I have a CPA and can’t get hired in consulting because I don’t have an MBA or industry experience, so if I didn’t want to have to leave to go to industry, I can’t make the switch
I have an MBA and I am also a CPA, I do not believe my MBA adds value to my salary.
Agree with this approach and am aiming to do the same thing. Goal is to switch from B4 to one of the strategy houses or startup life
I’m not in audit and would never get a CPA @KPMG3. If I go top 10 or even 20 it probably will almost double my salary
Undercover boss!!
Yeah if you’re going to a top 10/20 MBA school, you need to hop out of audit and put it to use
This is definitely an option, but smart networking/learning on your own could help you start over without going back to school
