Finished at part time kellogg. 1) make sure you set boundaries with your team for group calls. 2) be clear with groups on your work boundaries. 3) take all the pass / fail credits they give you- saves a lot of stress. 4) negotiate a local project so you can do some night classes. 5) skip 1-2 classes per course per quarter to maintain sanity. Usually I skipped around week 8 or 9 for one class and it helped a lot

Did but quit after first year for an internship and did 2nd year full time (had planned to go Booth FT but got a transfer and a big pay raise to keep my job). Loved the school, but trying to balance work was awful, but I did have lots less debt. Work suffered, class was a beast and I got less out of the experience. I finally wrote my resignation letter at 4am in a hotel room trying to get 2 hours of sleep before a full workday and a race back to Chicago for a Friday night class. My second year was a blast without working and was a 100% different experience. Weekend program guys seem to fare a bit better and much more manageable with a consulting travel schedule. Happy to chat if you want to shoot me a DM.

Same here. Up for promotion. Did a management certification from Cornell in the past. Wonder whether part time at Kellogg would workout

Did a 3 year stint with the weekend MBA program at Booth while consulting. Loved the overall experience, but my life sucked for that entire 3 years. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Did Evenings at Kellogg pre consulting. If you’re in consulting do weekends.

Up for promo to Manager and am at Kellogg. Happy to answer anything

Booth is very rigorous.. might be hard to balance with consulting

True as well

I was on opt from July 2020 to July 2021. I got my h1b approved in 2020 and chose to activate it via the consular processing method. I left the US in Jul 2021 and will finally visit the embassy for stamping tomorrow. If successful, does it mean that I could get another company to apply for a h1b transfer right away? Or do I have to enter the US before the h1b transfer process can start? Thanks!

Met with my boss today and was told “well you’re way better at your job than we expected...so keep doing that and just that. We might be able to have some more interesting work for you to do in 2-3 years”. Meanwhile...I am BORED TO TEARS!!!!!! And it’s tempting to quit, but I make more money than both of my parents combined EVER have, we had zero layoffs during COVID, and I really do love the people. At the end of the day...I guess I’m just hear to vent and to see if I’m the ONLY one.
